WilsonRobertJr

Robert “Rob Base” Wilson was age 65 when the Lord whispered his name softly – as he slept peacefully on August 21, 2022. Born in Clarksdale Mississippi on May 29, 1957, Rob as he was affectionately known was the 4th of 7 children.

Rob attended Eleventh Avenue, Linmoor Junior High, and Linden McKinley High Schools. While growing up Rob took great pride in his boxing abilities and joined Windsor Terrance Recreation Center’s Boxing Team. He played basketball at Linden McKinley and in his later years played for several adult basketball leagues throughout the city.

On June 22, 1984, Rob united in holy matrimony with his childhood sweetheart, Renee Patterson. Their union was blessed with three children: Terikia Nicole, Turquiose Norell and Robert Lee Wilson III.

Rob was the life of the party and fun to be around. He made many friends during his lifetime through gambling, basketball and talking shiggity. Many of his friends expressed their mutual fondness of him on his daughters, Terikia & Turquiose’s Facebook pages.

Rob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Sr. and Claudette Wilson; sisters, Bobbie Battles, Dorothy Wilson, and Velenara Wilson; brother, Charles Wilson; grandson, Malik Elijah Fincher; two favorite aunts, Verlon Horton and Minnie Mae Anderson; two favorite nephews, Tabari Patterson and Tyrun Hill; and special friend, Shelton Porter.

Rob is survived by supportive wife, Renee “Patterson” Wilson; loving daughters, Terikia Patterson, Turquiose Patterson, and Cierra Overton; son, Robert Wilson III; sister, Shirley Stargill; brother, Willie Wilson; grandchildren, Frank Fincher, Tayvari Fincher, Tyrunae Fincher, Nykia Fincher, Nevaeh Mackey, Dajuan Ray, and Alaiyah Ray; special nieces, Shanicqa Wilson, Lavetta Wilson, and Taima “Debo” Patterson; special great nephew, Antwan Wilson; special sister-in-love, Cheryl Patterson; special longtime friends, James “Bubbles” Hilton and Eddie Braswell; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and a great host of dedicated friends.
