Rodney “Ronnie” Wayne Martin Sr. was born on September 1st, 1954 to the John and Ida Martin. He was a life-long resident of Columbus, Ohio. He left this earth on January 4th 2018 to be with his heavenly father.

Ronnie was a fun loving man throughout his life. Growing up he was always laid back and easy going. He always helped out even if he had nothing. Ronnie always brought home strays and begged to keep them. As Ronnie got older he started having different health issues, he accepted each one as they attacked his body. On December 14th, 2017 Ronnie went into cardiac arrest and never recovered. On January 3rd, 2018 the decision was made to remove him from life support, he passed away January 4th 2018 surrounded by family and friends.

The Lord said come home my son I will give you rest. Ronnie is preceded in death by his mother, Ida B Martin; father, John Wilbert Martin Sr; grandmothers, Alberta Martin and Hattie Mae Hairston; grandfathers, Jerry Martin, Matt Bailey and Attrial Hairston.

Ronnie is survived by sons, Rodney “Brown” (Charmaine)  Martin Jr, Torrell and Tiniko Cannaday; grandchildren, Landon, Jai and Faith, Diamond, Torrell ll, Renae, Taniko, and Talisha; sister, Sonja Martin; brothers, John, James, Kenny, and Brandon Martin; special friend, Jo Jo; and lifelong friends Bill (Glennis) Butcher and Steven Thomas and John F. Barksdale.

Ronnie’s smile and laughter will be truly missed and his spirit will live forever in all of us.
