I am so sorry to hear about your family member. The Bible says, “There is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous & the unrighteous” – (Acts 24:15) Our Father, Jehovah (God’s personal name – Psalms 83:18) wants people to live, not die. He is the Source of life, he becomes the Father of everyone who is resurrected. (Psalms 36:9) That is why we pray, “Our Father in the heavens”. (Matt 6:9) Jehovah has given his son Jesus, an important share in resurrecting the dead. (John 6:40,44) Very soon, there will be “no more tears, pain, suffering and DEATH”. (Rev 21:3,4) May you & your family find comfort in these scriptures.
