Roy Lee Dozier, Jr. was born on June 14, 1959 in Augusta, GA to Gracie Ruffin Burk and the late Roy Dozier, Sr.

Roy accepted Christ as his personal savior at an early age and joined the Ever Faithful Missionary Baptist Church.

Roy attended Glen Hills High School in Augusta, GA. In 1977 he left Georgia and made Columbus, OH his home. Roy would later join the Temple of Faith Church of God in Christ where his mother and Uncle Alonzo still attend. He was also employed as a chef at the Hilton Garden Inn, in Dublin Ohio.

Roy was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lindsay and Lula Bell Brown, Edwin and Flossie Smith; paternal grandparents, Charlie Norman and Nancy Dozier.

Roy leaves to cherish his memory, children, Jade Carter and Justin Carter; grandchildren, Djournee, Jaedyn, Tayvion, Justin Jr., Jahaun, and Jaxson; parents, Gracie (Ronald Burk) Ruffin-Burk; siblings, Calvin Tate, Beverly Tate, Gwendolyn Coleman, and Tywana Ruffin; step-brothers, Ronnie, Sterling, and Brian Burk; special uncle (more like a brother), Alonzo Brown; special friends, Joe Young and Venus Holiman; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends to cherish his beloved memory.

Visitation 9:00am and Funeral 10:00am Saturday, January 2, 2020 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH, 2500 Cleveland Ave.

Interment at Evergreen Burial Park.
