Rudell Upchurch (Foster), daughter of Arthur and Volina Foster, was born June 6, 1935 in Fosters, Alabama.

Predeceased by father and mother, Arthur and Volina Foster; Brothers, Arthur Foster Jr., Calvin Foster, Franklin Foster; Sisters, Clara Bell Shepherd and Ruby Jennings; Son, Terry Maye; Grandson, Calvin Upchurch Jr.; Granddaughters, Markita Upchurch, Nasasha Jones and DaAunta Upchurch.

Rudell and Eddie Lee Upchurch married in 1955. From this union eight beautiful children were born and one adopted. In 1970, they relocated to Columbus, Ohio where they continued to raise their tight-knit family.

Rudell’s favorite pastime was spending time with family and friends and enjoying good laughter. She was known by fun nicknames such as “Ru”, “Cool Rudy” or “Trudell” and affectionately known as “Mom”, “Momma” and “Grandmama” because she showed so much love and care toward others. She was a very understanding and kind person with a big, love-filled heart. Rudell was one of the best listeners and gave wise advice.

Rudell enjoyed listening to gospel and blues music like The Mighty Clouds of Joy, Shirley Caesar, B. B. King and Johnnie Taylor. She liked fishing, playing cards, and loved to dance. She enjoyed watching TV, which she continued to do until the Lord called her home on May 1, 2018. Rudell’s kindness and love for everyone will live on in our memories.YOU WILL BE MISSED, WE LOVE YOU!

Rudell leaves to cherish her memories; 8 children: Richard (Gayle), Eddie Ray, Debra (Richard) Reavish, June, Dennis (Gwendolyn), Vickie, Barry (Altimeice), and Calvin (Shalonda). Brother, James Foster; Sisters, Annie Lavender and Pearl (Gilbert) Douglass, all of Saginaw, Michigan; 26 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation 1:00pm and Funeral 3:00pm Saturday, May 12, 2018 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH, 2500 Cleveland Ave.

(John 3:16) You have God’s promise that Rudell will live again. (Acts 24:15)
