Sallie Lou Porter, born January 20, 1930 to Charlie and Laura Shepard in West Point Georgia. She later moved to Columbus, Ohio in her 20’s where she met and married Robert Porter.

Sallie Lou worked as a chef supervisor for the Ohio State University for over 40 years, where she later retired. She met a lot of football and basketball players while working at the OSU campus. She would always say “There go my boys”. She was a very strong and loving woman with a big heart. She loved cooking and keeping the family together.

Sallie Lou is preceded in death by her Father, Charlie Frank and Mother, Laura Ann Shephard; Son Eddie Davidson; Husband Robert Porter; Sister, Charlie Mae; Brothers, Jimmy, John, Jewell and Emory.

She leaves to cherish her memory Daughter, Rebecca, Porter; Son, Larry Davidson; Sisters, Genell (John) Scanville, Ann Lucas, Elizabeth Robinson; Brothers, Isaac, Horace and Willie B. Shephard; Grandchildren, Robert, Natasha, William (Elizabeth) and Latoya Porter; 10 Great Grands as well as a host of nieces, nephew’s other relatives and friends.

Sallie Lou will be truly missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

Visitation 10:00 AM and Private Funeral Service 11:00 AM Friday, March 04, 2022 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST 5456 E. Livingston Ave.

Interment at Eastlawn Cemetery.
