Samuel Lee Cudgel Jr., was born December 19, 1939 in Columbus, Ohio to Samuel and Mary Cudgel. Sam departed this earthly life on Sunday, May 3, 2020 at 2:03am.

Sam retired from DCSC and Columbus City Schools. He was an avid scenic painter, a stickler for clean cars and manicured lawns.

Sam is preceded in death by parents Samuel and Mary Cudgel; daughter, Cherrilyn Goodwin; brother, Ronald Ellis; sister, Diane Cudgel; and step son, Gary Harris.

Sam also known to many as June is survived by his loving wife, Eileen Cudgel; sons, Kevin (Robin) Brown, and Tony (Kayla) Richardson; daughters, Rhonda (Eric) Cowart, Sheila Hester, Tracy Cudgel, and Gina Harris; sisters, Iona (Melvin) Canada, and Mary Topp; brothers in law, Gene (Norice) Rice, and Darryl Rice; sisters in law, Janice (Jerry) Givens and Kim Rice; 20 grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Private services Visitation 10:00 AM and Funeral Service 11:00 AM Thursday, May 7, 2020 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave.

Interment at Glen Rest Memorial Estates.
