Sarah Ruth Bobbitt

A Time To Be Born …Sarah Ruth Bobbitt, age 87, was born on June 9, 1936, in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Ruth and Charles Turner Sr. and was one of ten children. She was united in marriage to Donald Bobbitt on December 17, 1965. Sarah was a devoted wife and mother and she was blessed with her three children. She was a lifelong resident of Columbus, Ohio. Sarah transitioned this life on Saturday, May 18, 2024, in the loving comfort of her home. She had a long battle with cancer until she took her final breath and was freed from the toils of sickness.

A Time To Live… Sarah attended East High School. She was an active member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. During her years of ministry at the church she served as a Hospitality Missionary and was responsible for Birthday and Get-well cards. Sarah loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking and preparing her famous steaks, macaroni salad and spaghetti. She also made delicious flavorful Butter Pound Cakes. Most of all she really enjoyed shopping at Marc’s, Thrift stores and Save-A-Lot. Sara loved watching ALL animal TV shows and HGTV. She also loved flowers and having a beautiful yard was very important to her. She really enjoyed dancing, singing and listening to her favorite tunes of the Blues & Old School artist. One of her many passions were just sitting quietly putting together her countless puzzles that had 1,000 to 2,500 pieces. She loved ALL holidays and showed it by giving presents to her family and friends especially Birthdays and her favorite Holiday being Christmas. Sara worked at Good Shepherd Nursing Facility as a Cook/Dietary Supervisor for many years.

A Time To Love… Sarah leaves to cherish her memories, sisters; Shirley Brown and Alice Blake; brother, William Turner Sr.; sons, Richard Graves and Terry Graves Sr.; stepdaughter; Tracy Manns; grandsons, Anthony D “Tony” (Freweine) Graves Sr., Terry Lee (Stefanie) Graves, Jr.; granddaughters, Brandia (Timothy Sr.) Graves-Jordan, Alicia “Nikki” (Rayshawn) Graves-Smotherman, Shanelle Graves, Ciara (J.R.) Goodwin, Keyona “Tink” Joseph Edmonds, Sr.; 17 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews cousins, other relatives and friends; special friends; Carla Galloway, Margaret Brown, Ruby Smalls and Landa Holmes-Cunningham.

Greeting Sarah at heaven’s gate, she was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Charles Turner Sr.; son, James Graves; sisters, Mae Elizabeth Smith, Jeanette Cochran, Carolyn Nowlin, Brenda Jane Dillard; brothers, Charles (Freddy) Turner Jr. and David Turner.

A Time To Depart…Sarah Ruth Bobbitt flew softly in the arms of God on Saturday May, 18, 2024
