Sharon Laverne Prentiss

Sharon Laverne Prentiss was born on 20 January 1949 in Columbus, OH.   She went to be with the Father in heaven on May 9, 2014 while sleeping peacefully during the wee hours of the morning.

 

She attended Columbus Technical Institute and worked many years at St Vincent’s Family Center as a secretary.  She was a caregiver to many throughout her life.  Sharon was an avid reader and was known as “The Crossword Queen”.  Anyone who knew her knew she always had a crossword puzzle book and her Kindle close by.

 

Sharon is survived by her beloved children; Shevelle Madison, James Prentiss, and Bernita (Antonio) Saffore.  Grandchildren; Charlena (Andre) Tanner, Iandamonte Stewart, Melinda Jordan, Melia Prentiss, Tomaris Coney, Melaja Prentiss, and Jaisaan Prentiss along with 5 great-grandchildren.  Her loving Aunt Frances Lee, brother, Rick (Debbie) Johnson, sister in law Peggy Hardiman.  Her special friends,  Lisa Billings and Jerry Deal.  Special cousin Tonda Mason.  Along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation 10:00am and Funeral 11:00am Saturday May 16, 2015 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE 2500 Cleveland Ave.,

Shevelle and family I am so sorry for your loss. I had the honor of working with Sharon at the v.o.a. years ago, truly a compassionate and amazing woman. I will miss her deeply.
