Shawn Antione Hines was born December 4, 1975 in Columbus, OH to Caroletta Jean Hines and went to sleep eternally in the loving arms of God on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at the age of 42.
Shawn was a graduate of East High School and had an infinite passion for cooking; he traveled frequently with his “portable kitchen” prepared at all times to show off his skilled trade. He was employed at The Olde Oak, where he loved meeting the people who enjoyed his cooking. Shawn’s greatest joys in life were his kids, family time, and sharing loud exciting Michigan sports, or quiet time fishing with his best friend, Reese. Shawn was also a faithful member of Harvey H. Alston Sr Elks Lodge #1755, where he served proudly as the Chaplin under the direction of current Exalted Ruler David Crockett.
Shawn was preceded in death by grandparents; Willie Lee Hines I, Ceola Hines; and aunt, Ameila “Tina” Hines.
Shawn leaves to cherish his memory, mother, Caroletta Hines; children, Markale and Lyrik Hines; brother, Laureese (Kanika) Hines; uncles, Will “Eddie” Hines II, Michael (Michelle) Hines, and David Washington; aunt, Shirley Davis; special aunt, Celia (Curtis) Eldridge; special cousins who were like siblings, Willie (Michelle), Wetzel, Warren (Lajaiah), Danielle, and LaTisha Hines-Addo; cousins, Michael, Nigel (Porsche), and Gabrielle Hines; beloved nieces, Tyiler, Cree, and Leeauna Hines; nephew, Treyvion Hall; longtime companion, Tammy Williams; special Lodge Brothers, Sam, Raymo, Bear, Manny, and 50; ace running buddy, Deshawn; and a host of other family and friends who will miss him dearly.
Visitation 10:00am and Funeral 11:00am Tuesday July 24, 2018 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH 2500 Cleveland Ave.
Interment at Evergreen Burial Park.

I will miss Shawn, I remember him as a baby especially when he stared walking and climbing. Especially him falling off the washer and dryer on Davis Ave. There are many other things that I can think of. We really do not how blessed we are to have someone who touched our heart until they are gone.
