Shirley Cecilia (Goodwin) Anglin was born on January 17, 1934, to Pleasant Goodwin and Alice Goodwin (Duckett) in the city of Washington DC. She moved to Philadelphia Pennsylvania with her sisters Bernice, Ruby, and Edie. She would grow and mature into a beautiful woman working as a waitress and bartender. She mothered six children (Regina, Rita, Allen, Alexander, Anthony and Andre’), helped raise numerous neighborhood and immediate family members’ children, and wed her husband of over 50 years, Mr. Arthur Anglin. Arthur and Shirley eventually moved to Columbus, Ohio taking with them their two youngest sons (Anthony and Andre’) along with two youngest daughters (Angela and Anita). Once the family was settled in Columbus, Shirley took college courses at Columbus Technical Institute (CTI, now known as Columbus State Community College) where she earned an Associate Degree in Social Work.

She loved The LORD and witnessed and told everyone she encountered about GOD’S goodness, mercy, and grace. Shirley transitioned from labor to reward on August 12, 2021. She was loved by everyone she met, and she will be dearly missed. Farewell good and faithful servant until we meet again.
