This is the story of Sonya (Sonie) Jean White. Sonie was a Beautiful Soul who was born September 8, 1970 to Charles Lee Givens and Delores Givens in Columbus Ohio. A member of the National Honor Society, she graduated from Mifflin High School in 1988; prior to attending Columbus State Community College for an Associate Degree. Sonie was employed with Pactiv for 20 years where she worked as a Machine Operator.
Sonie lived a life full of Love; Laughter; and Prosperity all the while wearing several different hats. She was a giving Mom to her daughters: a gracious Gigi to her grandbabies; a doting daughter; a darling aunt; an amazing sister; a fun niece; a loving companion; and a proud owner of two fur-babies. Sonie had a laugh that would light up the room and a heart made of pure gold. In addition, Sonie shared an avid love for sports that was unparalleled; rather it was attending an OSU Football Game, a Cleveland Cavs Basketball Game, watching tennis at 4 AM or attending a family member’s sports event, she was there focused; a commentator and you better not ring her phone until the game was complete. Sonie was an all-around Wonderful Woman who will be missed and whose memory will continue to be cherished.
Our beloved Sonie went to be with the Lord on January 6, 2022 at the age of 51, in the comfort of her residence. She is proceeded in death by father Charles Givens, grandfather Lawrence Harden, grandmothers Naomi Harden and Hattie Givens. Survived by mother Delores Givens, daughters Kourtney White and Kevina White, brothers Kurtis Givens and Scott (Shalawn) Havener, sisters Kishia Givens and Gail Havener-Williams, grandchildren, Dezion, Amare, Amone, Amier, Amuad, DeKenzie and Dior; a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, 2 fur babies, loving companion Dion Coleman and a host of other relatives and friends.

May God comfort you all and give you peace during your time of bereavement. Sonya was a remarkable woman & she will truly be missed!!!!!
My deepest condolences to the family of Sonie..She was my childhood best friend, good memories.Sonie and reconnected after many years of seeing each other. We went to lunch and it was like we were kids again. I’m so glad we had that chance. She loved her Daughters and her beautiful grand children… I enjoyed the laughs we shared discussing our families. This new came at such a shock to me, she was always full of life and laughter. Rev 21:3 ,4: With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”… until then old friend… resurrection hope for sure.❤️
My deepest condolences to Kourtney and Kevina. Stay strong and carry on your Mother’s legacy, with love,
Cousin Dana Harden-Freeman
