Stanley Elias Phillips

Stanley Phillips

Stanley Elias Phillips, age 58 died Tuesday unexpectedly, December 18, 2018. Preceded in death by mother & father, Icylene & Harry Phillips; paternal grandmother, Marguerite (Madge) Bibbs and other relatives. Survived by siblings Janice Ann Phillips Seward, Frederick (Karen) Phillips, Marty Lou Phillips Nowell, Michael Eugene Phillips and Harry Steven Phillips; special cousins Rosemary (Candy) Clinkscale, Lawrence & Robert Henton along with other nieces, nephews and cousins and friends. Stanley was a very kind and loving soul–a true innocent who enriched the lives of all who knew him. At birth he had several developmental disabilities and was not expected to survive; but it was Stanley’s own personal resilience along with the love and support of his family and friends that enabled him to beat seemingly unsurmountable odds.

In spite of adversity Stanley kept an upbeat and positive attitude and a big smile that was infectious and inspirational to all. His trademark phrase was “Are you proud of me”. “Stan The Man” as he was affectionately called will be dearly missed and, yes Stanley, we are all very, very proud of you and the valuable lessons that you taught us on how to live and love in our lives. We also take great comfort in knowing that you are now at home with your Creator God, with your earthly Mother and Father, and a host of other relatives, now at peace in the eternal loving embrace of God.

‘Celebration of Stanley’s Life’ will held at 1pm, Saturday, January 19, 2019, Unity of Columbus, 4211 Maize Road, Columbus, Ohio 43224. Ministry of comfort entrusted to MARLAN J GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST.
