USAF Tech Sargent Stanley Lee Landrum77, Sunrise December 12, 1940 Sunset November11, 2018. He was born in Columbus Ohio. Stanleywas educated in the Columbus School system. He was a graduate of West High School in January of 1959. Stanley enlisted into the United States Air Force on May 1, 1959 at Fort Hayes. His basic training began at Lockland Air Force Base, San Antonio Texas. Upon completion of basic training he was assigned to March Air Force Base located in Riverside, California. Airman Landrum received many overseas assignments. His first assignment was Sidi Slimane,Morocco later spending one year in North Africa. Upon returning to the United States he was assigned to Plattsburgh AirForce base in upstate New York. He spent five years at
Plattsburg before being sent to Bunker Hill AFB., Peru,Indiana. He was next assigned to Yokota Air Base, Japan. He was then assigned to an unknown base in Thailand, then to Osan Air base Korea. Stanley returned to the United StatesJune of 1968 and was assigned to Wichita, Kansas. Stanley’s next assignment was assigned to Alexandria, Louisiana. In May of 1971 he was assigned to LakenheathAir Base, England. There is where Stanley met and later marriedMs. Valerie Dickens. Stanley and Valerie celebrated 46 years of marriage. Out of this union two beautiful children were born, Sheneise and Arron. Stanley retired from the United States Air Force in June of 1984. Stanley was a long term employee of the State of Ohio. Stanley worked for the Supreme Court of Ohio as a Purchasing Agent and Bailiff. Stanley retired from the State of Ohio, June 2010. Upon retirement Stanley became a member of the Ohio Memorial ChapterTuskegee Airman in July 2010 where he served as Chaplain. Stanley accepted Christ at an early age at Oakley Baptist Church. Stanley’s Christian journey led him to be part of the Second Community Church and then he later became a member of First Church of God until his passing. Stanley served with the Men’s Choir, Greeter Ministries and New Member’s Ministry. Stanley had a love for music. He was a member of the Von Thomas and Friends Interdenominational Love Choir and the State of Praise Choir along with other choirs in the city. Stanley was a former 33rd Degree Mason. Stanley was active with many community organizations, including America Red Cross, Meals on Wheels and several homeless shelters within the city. Stanley was preceded in death by his parents Samuel Lee and Josephine Landrum and Maxine Elizabeth and Herbert Timmons; grandmother, Edna Ferguson, sisters Doris Landrum and special sister AntoinetteCannady, Uncle Jack Ferguson. Left to cherish his memory, wife, Valerie Landrum; son Arron L. (Mia) Landrum; daughter, Sheneise D. Landrum; sister Christine Lewis; special brother, John A. Cannady; grandchildren, Tylaisha and Arronte Landrum and Taron Leftwich, godchildren, John Jr., Mark, Anthony and Shermaine; special friends, Veronica Thornton and Jerrica Gardner and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation 10:00am. Funeral 11:00am Saturday, November 24, 2018 at First Church of God 3478 Refugee Rd.
Interment at Dayton National Cemetery at a later date.

To the family of Stan Landrum. My heart and prayers are with you during this very difficult time. Stan worked at the Supreme Court of Ohio when I started there, almost 10 years ago. Everyone knew Stanley, and everyone respected Stanley. My fondest memory of Stan was his ability to help organize our court wide Thanksgiving potluck. He had such passion, and it was often said by the staff that it was the best staff activity of the year. It was one time of year where everyone would gather and share, regardless of position and rank. We talked, we laughed, we prayed. We had Stan to thank for that, and he will be greatly missed.

Go with God Uncle Stan. May the Lord be with your family. You were kind of an idol to your nephew who is also serving his country.
Prior to his retirement, it was my privilege to work with Stan at the Supreme Court for about six years. He was a man of faith and any time spent with him was, indeed, time well spent. Stan’s life was marked with gentleness, humility and always displayed a love and concern for others. He loved the Lord and his families – those biological as well as spiritual. Although the passing of a loved one or friend is difficult, rest assured there’s a great celebration going on in heaven – Stan has finally come home. Our sincere condolences and prayers for Stan’s family.
My deepest condolences for your loss of Stanley. I had the pleasure of working with Stan for 18 years at The Surpreme Court Of Ohio. He was a true friend he will be missed.
Stan was a great guy. He cared for everyone he knew. I worked with him for over twenty years. He was always the first one to volunteer for organizing employee events. He annually organized the Supreme Court’s Thanksgiving luncheon. I will miss him.

To the Landrum Family, I used to work in the same building “State Office Tower” with Stan before I retired in 2009. I am one of three founders of the State of Praise gospel choir. Two of the three founders are resting in Jesus “Ralph Conley & Leon Norman.” During the years of State of Praise choir, Stan was an extremely faithful & dedicated member and coordinator of the choir. He loved God and was a pleasure to know this awesome man of God! His love for the Lord and always helping others was genuine. His grace and humbleness was one of a kind! Heaven gained an angel. Rest on Stan until that great getting up morning Thank you family for sharing Brother Stan with us. Sending you our deepest condolences, prayers for comfort and peace.

State of Praise Choir
My deepest condolences to the family of Stan Landrum. I met Brother Stan a couple of years ago and had the privilege of writing his story in the book, Nuggets of Love. I am honored and blessed to have been able to spend that time with him and for him to open his heart to me. Such a sharp and kind man who will be missed!
