Stephen Taylor Adkins was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 8, 1952 to the union of William M and Elizabeth Adkins.
Stephen was the fourth of ten children. Stephen was called from labor to reward on July 14, 2021.

Stephen received his elementary education in Chicago. Illinois and he attended High School and College in Springfield
Massachusetts.

Stephen moved to Columbus, Ohio in 1973 and made Columbus his home. Stephen was employed with General
Motors Corporation from 1978 until 2008 when he retired. Stephen was married for 15 years to Rebecca (Carter) Adkins.
Stephen later loved and married Barbara (Love) Adkins on October 24, 2000 and they remained married until his death
on July 14, 2021.

Stephen confessed his life to Christ at an early age and attended Christ Methodist Church. Other than his family,
Stephen had a passion for dogs since youth and he loved beautiful cars. Stephen was preceded in death by his parents,
Sister, Linda Gibbs; Brothers, William (Mickey) Adkins and
Glen Adkins

Stephen leaves to cherish his memories his Wife Barbara, Sons, Stephen of Chicago , Il and Brandon of Katy, Texas;
Stepdaughters, Tiffany, Robin, Danielle; Grandchildren, Robert Stephen, Kayla, Knowledge Allah and Faith;

sisters, Sandra King, Paulette Bullock, Angela Chandler (Michael) of Columbus, Ohio and Diane Eli (Lionell); Brothers, Mark L.
Adkins and Kenneth D. Adkins of Chicago, Illinois.

Stephen will be dearly missed by his Aunts, Dorothy Gray and Brenda Nicholson of Chicago Illinois, Delores Collins, Maggie
Houston and Valory Richardson of Macon Georgia; Nieces, as well as a host of nephews, cousins and friends. A very special
acknowledgement to Cheryl Gills who was Stephen’s close friend and companion for many years.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Private Visitation 1:00 PM and Private Memorial Service 2:00 PM Friday, July 30, 2021 at Chapel of Peace – East, 5456 E. Livingston Ave.. Ministry of Comfort entrusted to MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. LIVINGSTON AVE.
