Stoi Paphe Jurist Johnson, age 51 of Columbus, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her parents on Friday, November 24, 2017. Stoi was born on November 3, 1966 in Columbus, Ohio and gifted by God to parents Erena R. (Hall) Jurist and William F. Jurist. She was the oldest of six children, four sisters: Níel, René, Uri, Othni and one brother, William.

As a child, Stoi was full of energy, curious and had a very creative mind. Her artistic and musical talents were manifested before the age of nine. Her creative talents were expressed through making jewelry and drawings and her love for music was manifested through her becoming a percussionist. Stoi loved fashion and was always ahead of the trends. As a teen, she would often sketch out her designs. Her curiosity was manifested through her love for entomology and collection of butterflies. Stoi loved everything she did and was always excited about discovering new things.

In high school, Stoi played several instruments including the flute, conga drums and chimes. She was also very athletic and ran track. After graduating Northland High School and Fort Hayes Career Center with a concentration in Dental Assistance, she attended Bliss College where she obtained an Associate Degree in Fashion, Jewelry and Merchandising.

Upon graduating college, Stoi worked as an Analyst at AT&T until she retired. Throughout her career, Stoi demonstrated a hard work ethic and always put one hundred percent in everything she did. After retirement, she dedicated her time to designing and making jewelry and establishing her own company, Unique Expressions. Stoi was also very active in church and was in the orchestra and the band. Her love for acting led to her participating in church plays.

Stoi had an infectious personality and all those who knew her, loved her. She never met a stranger, even at a young age. Stoi never complained and always stayed positive, even during difficult times.

Stoi is preceded in death by her uncle Tracy Hall. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Tyler Johnson; son, Gihon Jurist; parents, Erena and William Jurist, her brother, William G. John 6:40-“For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who recognizes the Son and exercises faith in him should have everlasting life, and I will resurrect him on the last day.”
The bible promises that soon you will have the joy of seeing your loved one resurrected to live forever on a paradise earth where death will be no more, neither will pain and suffering.(Acts 24:15; Revelation 21:1-4)
What a wonderful day that will bai! May this beautiful promise and many more, found in your family bible, bring you comfort and give you the strength to endure until our heavenly Father fulfills his word.

Condolence from Kim on December 4th, 2017 5:14 pm

To the family of Stoi, you have my deepest sympathy in your loss. Our Heavenly Father promises that in the near future, there will be no more sickness (Isaiah 33:24). Death is one of the most difficult situations we must face. Isaiah 25:8 tells us “He will swallow up death forever, And the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces.” May your faith in God’s promises get you through this period.
