Susie “Q” Burgess

susie

Susie Etta Burgess, better known as “Susie Q” was born on July 31, 1972. She was born and raised in Columbus, OH. During her childhood, she endured many hardships that no child
should have to experience. Although things were tough, she powered through and attended many different Columbus Public Schools, including Beechcroft High School.

Susie was known for being prissy, sassy, and outspoken. She always spoke her mind and had a purse on her arm, while doing it. She had a unique laugh and a heart of gold. Those that
knew her, loved her for her kindness, her hilarious sense of humor, and her amazing cooking skills. Throughout her life, she held various cooking jobs, including COSI and Columbus City
Schools. During her free time, she enjoyed playing spades, skating, hosting gatherings at her home, and having a cocktail.

Her greatest accomplishments were raising her 3 kids and making sure they each graduated. She was proud to have 8 grandchildren, who called her Nanna.
Susie was a one-of-a-kind type of person. She was a blessing to those that knew her, and she will truly be missed.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Evelyn Burgess and Mitchell Anderson.

Left to cherish Susie’s memory, are her brothers, Clifford Burgess, Glenn Burgess, Mitchell Harris Sr., Baron Numa Anderson; sister, Tammyria Jennings; son, Davon Burgess;
daughters Shanequa and Cha’keyla Burgess; grandsons Keshaun, Dayon, Kamari, Keyon, Davon II, and Da’Mir; granddaughters, Kira and Vira; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces,
nephews, cousins, friends; and special family friends, Nacole Qualls, Belinda Jones, Annette Newton, and Tawnetta Steele.
