Susie G. May, age 83, was born in Thomaston, Alabama on January 22, 1937. Susie was ushered into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 to be with The Lord Jesus Christ after battling with Dementia.

Susie moved to Columbus, Ohio in 1964 with her five kids and husband Benjamin May Sr. She was employed by Grant Medical Center and The Columbus City School Board. She worked both jobs for about thirty years. After retiring she worked as a Home Health Aide.

Susie is preceded in death by her father Richard Jones, Jr.; mother, Creola Jones; her sisters, Betty Howell, Rose Jones, and Franie Jones; brothers, Leo Jones, and John Jones; great granddaughters, Rihanna Payne and Miracle Bridges and daughter in law Venice Carter.

Susie is survived by her sisters, Creola Stevens, Annie Glover, Mamie Johnson and Chandra Betts; brothers, Richard Jones III, and Frank Jones; sons , Benjamin May Jr., Orlando May, Tyrone May, and Mark May; son in law, Gary Russell; daughters, Pequtra (Regina) May, and Wanda May; granddaughters, Charlotte Palmer, Chequtra May, April May, Jessica Carter, Charmain May, and Janet May; grandsons, Kevin Carter, Charman May and Darryl Carter; great grandsons, Keisean Mundell, James Hill III, Isiah Easley, Missiah, Dwain Walker, and Tre’Sean Tyler; great granddaughters, Nyjane’ Stewart, Brianna Plank, Jaleah Callip, La’mariya Martin, Nysia May, Arianna Payne, Janaya May, Aubree Bridges, Onna Carter, Tianna Payne, Mia Carter; great-great grandchildren, Mikiiara Kelly, Ni’Arie and Daysean Hicks and a host of other family and friends.

Private Visitation 1:00 PM and Funeral Service 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH 2500 Cleveland Ave.
