Tamara June McCalla (Tammy), 45 was born on July 6, 1975 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Emory and Jean McCalla.
At the age of 10 Tamara and her mother relocated to Columbus, Ohio. There Tammy was raised and graduated from Marion Franklin High School in 1993.
Some of her accomplishments, Bachelors Degree in Organizational Management from Wilberforce University, Masters of Business Administration from Franklin University. Tammy used her knowledge and skills while working for, United Way of Central Ohio, Non Profit Organizations, Charitable Contributions another non-profit, she also took joy in working for, Management and Information Technology Consultants Minority-owned, Woman-owned and Managed Company.
At one point Tammy did start TJM her own consulting firm.
Tammy was active in the Columbus Youth Professionals Club (CYP), a volunteer with the Senior African American Leaders in Technology Group (SAALT). Her passion was Technology, and that people of color would and could get the knowledge.
The joys of Tammys life was our mother (Jean) and her son Duran. Everyone who knew Tammy knew the importance she placed on family and friends. Her SMILE and friendly manner touched everyone who crossed her path. her mission in life was to make sure family and friends were doing well by calling them, or showing up at their door
Tammy was preceded in death by her parents Emory and Jean McCalla; sister Darlene Hilton;
brothers Emory Jr. and Richard McCalla; nephew Kenny McCalla.
Left to cherish her memory, son Duran; sister Shirley Adams; brother, David L. Price Jr. (Lori);
aunts Betty Ann, Luella; uncle William (Gail); nephews Todd (Montrie), Kristoffer, Donte, David III (Mikeya); nieces Angela, D’Nai, Shanna, Sonya (Aaron), Brittany, Aeriell; cousins just to name few, Michelle, Barbara, Paul, Mika; 7 great nephews, 18 great nieces a host of cousins and many loving friends.
PRIVATE Visitation 1:00 PM and Memorial Service 2:00 PM Monday, January 25, 2021 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave.

She was a beautiful soul, never met a more kind and loving young lady. You will be truly missed. Heaven just received a wonderful Angel. Rest easy my friend.
To the family, I send my heartfelt condolences and prayers to you all. Tammy, I’m gone miss talking to you everyday. This gone be hard sis but I’m strong I’ll get through. But now I won’t hear you say Shukita Banana. Lol. The world will miss that smile. You was such a beautiful soul inside and out. I will keep Duran in prayer when praying for Shakee. I love and miss you. Almost thought I was about to call you on my way home from work today. Fly high boo.

I was so heartbroken to learn of Tamara’s passing. She was beautiful inside and out. She was always a supportive friend and one of my biggest cheerleaders. I will miss get beautiful smile and spirit. Rest well my friend. Until we meet again….♥️
Tam – what a blessing it was to know you. Thank you for always sharing the gift of yourself to whoever you encountered. Expanding Visions Foundation will forever remember your graciousness in supporting our career institute. You were an amazing woman and your spirit will live on in all who knew you. Rest well my friend.
I write this with a sad heart and sorrow mind. However, I find comfort in knowing that you my friend are no longer physically suffering. I refuse to let this somber feeling supersede how I want to remember you. You were vibrant, witty, supportive, outgoing and full of life. You’ve been this same person since our paths crossed in “89”.
Our talks and time spent together will forever be cherished. We may not have stayed in touch frequently, but we both knew we were only a call or text away. I thank GOD for the opportunity he allowed me to be in your presence for that ONE last time. GOD knew this time was much needed. It will take some time for our hearts to heal but I have faith things will fall into its proper place in due time.

Tammy was a beautiful person. I so enjoyed our talks. No matter how much time lapsed between our seeing one another, when we came together, we connected like it was yesterday. I will miss her jovial personality and smile. My sincere condolences to her family and loved ones. You are in my prayers.

My sincerest condolences and prayers to Tammy’s family and friends. I am grateful for Tamara as she was influential in my progression, ascension, and development within the information technology industry and community. She introduced me to eventual mentors, and she mentored me on how to operate and function within a PMO. She always made herself available to help anyone she could; truly a pillar in the Blacktech614 community. I owe much of my success to the foundation she helped instill in me – I’m forever grateful, and will miss her greatly! RIH Tammy.

Tamara you will be missed. You were so loved by us as soon as you became our coach during the 2010 United Way kick off.we knew you were special. To her family Under her guidance and leadership she gave us her best. Her passion for the community and the non profit organizations that serve them was amazing and her leadership towards us was such a blessing. My sincere condolences to the family. I worked with Tamara at United Way with the Combined Federal Campaign. She became not just a Co-worker, she became my friend. She was a beautiful person inside and out. She was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. I’m so glad, we had a chance to catch up and go to dinner before I moved out of Columbus. Love you girl! Fly high!
Tammy I love you sis. Her mom (Jean) and my mom (Willia) were good friends and neighbors growing up in Cleveland, so we made it our business to become friends/sister. My heart is so heavy, I send my prayers and condolences to her family ❤️❤️❤️
My prayers and condolences to Tamara’s son, her family and many friends. Tamara and I met during our AALA experience years ago. We quickly connected over being from Cleveland and our love for being #boysmoms . Her positivity and energy was contagious. My biggest regret was not being able to get that hug and see that great smile again.

I am in shock. Tammy was such a wonderful support to our family (Lane/Midgette) during the passing of her cousin Billy. Funny, down-to-earth.

Warm, Welcoming, and down to earth is the woman that greeted me when joining SAALT ~4 years ago. I am thankful for our time together and she will be missed. My heartfelt condolences to her son and the entire family. I pray The Comforter will be with you this day and always!

I met Tammy many years ago from her cousin Christine Howard, my best friend, and we all really had some very nice times together. I was saddened to hear that Tammy passed away. I would like to offer my condolences to Tamara’s son and the rest of her family and friends. I’m a State of Ohio employee who had the privilege of working with Tamara when she was at the United Way. She improved our campaign tremendously by tackling challenges that had been unresolved for years. Hugs and prayers.
