Terry Reeves

ReevesTerry

Terry Eugene Reeves was born in Guam on April 18,1955 to Mary and Caloway Reeves Sr. He was the 4th oldest of 13 children. On March 7th, 2022 at Riverside Methodist Hospital he rejoined his loving parents along with two of his brothers and two of his sisters.

Terry attended Columbus Public Schools. He was a Panther, He graduated from Linden McKinley High School and later joined the United States Navy on September 21st, 1972. He received honorable discharge on November 14th, 1973.

Terry was ordained as a Deacon on October 23rd, 2005 at his previous church Holy Spirit Church of Columbus. Terry later joined Emmanuel Memorial P.N.P Church where he most recently served until his health began to fail. Terry was a dedicated and hard worker. He worked as a supervisor for AAA Rentals Warehouse for several years. Terry worked as a lead cook at St. Stephens Community House, where he found the love of his life of 14 years Gina Reeves; all the way up until retirement.

Terry was good with his words; he was a smooth guy and more importantly he was caring. He believed in paying it forward and he never did anything with the thought of getting something in return. His heart was larger than life itself. Terry was able to move a room with his smile and speeches. Terry has made a huge impact in the lives of other, especially with the way he took care of the people he loved.

Terry was very family oriented, and his family was his everything to him. As his health began to decline Raven and his grandchildren gave him a reason to smile and fight. The love and bond that he shared with each of them is unexplainable and he will forever be etched in their hearts. The children Terry gained through marriage, his bonus children accepted him as a father and there was nothing, they wouldn’t do for him. Terry was a protector, teacher, a listening ear and a shoulder to cry on and he never passed any judgement. Terry dedicated 14 years of his life to Gina and the love and life they built will forever be remembered.

Terry is preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Caloway Reeves Sr.; brothers Torrence and Elliott “Keith” Reeves; and sisters, Valorie Dillard and Brenda Williams.

Terry leaves to mourn and honor his memory his wife, Gina Reeves; bonus children: James Sherrod, Kimberly Sherrod, and Christen (Donovan) Davenport; siblings: Arnetta (Fred) Cox, Willa (Frank) Harvell, Michael (Darlene) Reeves, Caloway (Jonnie) Reeves, Bruce (Carla) Reeves, Kevin Reeves, Kim Burchett- Reeves, Tamara (Leonard) Valentine, and Tobbi (Moses) Herriot; special niece, Raven Herriot; and a host of loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends, and church family.
