FROM THE MOCKSVILLE, NC COMMUNITY
It is with pride that we, the town of his birth recognize the contribution that one Thomas Clinton Lyons Jr. made to humanity. We remember him as being intelligently OUTSPOKEN. Tommy did not compromise his beliefs. He spoke boldly and bravely his opinion. Tommy was FAMILY and KINFOLK DEDICATED. We remember an incident that occurred at the end of his mother’s funeral when the preacher’s wife took Tommy’s baby sister Adriane’s hand intending to take her home with the minister’s wife. Tommy responded by taking baby sister hand in his hand and saying, “I think we can handle this.”

Tommy was church-reared and bible fed spending over three-fourths of his life in Praise to God in the church of his choice. We see him carrying out the orders that God gave to Micah in chapter 6, verse 8: To do what is right to other people, Love being kind to others and living humbly, Trusting God, doing justly, loving mercy and walking humbly with God. You see Tommy’s “bark was worse than his bite. So family, we say to you_ Feel no guilt in laughing, he’d know how much you care. You can shed tears that he is gone or you can smile because he has lived. You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back or you can open your eyes and see all that he has left. You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back, or you can do what he would want, SMILE, OPEN YOUR EYES, LOVE AND GO ON! You have our heart felt sympathy.

Humbly submitted, the Mocksville Community .

Condolence from Kim Dillard on June 12th, 2017 3:09 pm

To the family of Thomas, you have my condolences in the loss of your dear loved one. Death is a difficult situation to accept and it is not natural. Why? God’s original purpose was for the human family to become many, fill the earth, and to live forever upon it (Genesis 1:28)! Humans die because sin and its effects have been passed on to us as Romans 5:12 tells us. Soon, the dead will be restored to perfect life (Acts 24:15; Psalms 37:29). It is impossible for God to lie so his purpose will come true!
