Thomas O. Penn Jr, age 65 went to be with the Lord February 18, 2021. Thomas was born in Columbus, Ohio June 15, 1955. Thomas will be remembered for being a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend.

He was a graduate of South High School in Columbus Ohio.  He was a General Motors retiree where he spent thirty years working in productions.  He was a member of New Birth Christian Ministries where he served on the Deacon Board. Thomas loved sports and was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns, and Los Angeles Lakers. Because of his love of sports, he spent years as an assistant basketball coach for the Eastmoor Lady Warriors Basketball Team, and several young men’s recreational teams. During his time as a coach, he was able to sow into so many people’s lives by giving a word of advice or even giving a helping hand.

In his latter years, he spent his free time watching Westerns, sports, and listening to Buckeye Radio. Thomas was always there to give a free word of advice or an inspirational story that seemed to shape so many people’s lives. But more importantly, he will be remembered for loving his wife, Connnie unconditionally.

Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Connie Penn, Sister Robin (Wayne) Oliver; Daughters, Trina Penn, Tracey Penn, Tricia (Mouhamed) Mbaye; Adopted children, Selena Jackson, Lakeysha Scott, Shawntaa (Alexander) McEntire, Anwar (Natasha) Taylor; Grandchildren Rokhaya Mbaye, Kennedy Penn, Marie Tucker, Maurissa Tucker; Adopted grandchildren Jaylen Hullum, Makayla Scott, Jay R Scott and Krystal Bryant Logan Lay; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Condolences for the family of “Thomas O. Penn Jr.”

Condolence from Ron Cooley on February 24th, 2021 11:47 am

A phenomenal man! Like a second DAD! Made me laugh, gave me sound wisdom, and was an example in my eyes of a loving HUSBAND, FATHER AND FRIEND. I will forever cherish the last memory of us all laughing at 1565! Me, Mr and Mrs Penn, Tracey and Tricia, Boo and Joy. He talked to me that day and laughed with me and at me because I like Michigan and he likes Ohio State and in his famous words he said”Michigan Sucks” and laughed 1565 will never be the same without you!
Love Ron Cooley
