Tonique Marie Long was born on January 12, 1983 in Columbus, Ohio to Mericle Long and Fred Miles Sr. She was employed as a Dietary Lead at Twin Valley Behavioral Healthcare Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Tonique was a 2001 graduate of Mifflin High School, and graduated with her Associates Degree in Medical Assisting from the Ohio Institute of Health Careers. Tonique was affectionately known as “Nika”. Nika was a wonderful mother of six children. She loved to cook and shop. Everyone who knew her loved her cooking. Her brothers Fee and James were her best friends. Most of all, her children meant everything to her. They were inseparable. Whenever you saw Nika, you saw her children with her.

God blessed Nika with a wonderful daughter named Brooklyn Kyra Marie on June 10, 2003. Brooklyn would light up the room with her perfect gummy smile. Brooklyn went home with the Lord on June 24, 2004. Nika overcame so many challenges that she was faced with in life. Nika gave birth to her last child, Emerie Destiny, on December 16, 2014. Nika stated she would never have children again and was blessed to have four children. God saw fit for her to have one last child who would be her miracle child. On September 13, 2019 coming into the world three months premature, was her baby boy, Quran Armise. In January 2020 Nika was diagnosed with an aggressive Colon Cancer. Early morning of Thursday February 13, 2020, Nika went home with the Lord.

Tonique is preceded in death by her daughter, Brooklyn K. Long; great grandparents, Jennie Long, Ida and Haywood Stewart; grandparents, Ida Jones and Raynol Jackson; father who raised her, Felix Stewart Sr.; uncles, Chris Long and Jack Stewart; aunts, Denise Long and Margrett Steward; and cousins, Marcus and India Long and Curtis Duff.

She leaves to cherish her memory, five amazing children: Jaazain, Davion, London, and Emerie Hollis (father Dedrick Hollis), Nika’s miracle, Quran Long-Spivey (father Quinton Spivey); mother, Mericle Long; fathers, James (Sue) Barnes and Fred Miles; siblings, Felix (Tanya) Stewart Jr., James Barnes III, Cierra Stewart, Lamar Howell, Yvonne Baynes, Nancy and Jacklyn Vassey, and Fred Miles Jr.; grandparents, Addie Long, Pauline Barnes, and Frank (Lolita) Barnett; aunts, Margaret Harris, Pebbles, Jennie and Tonrie Long, Cindy Dungy, Tilynn Price, Lisa Franklin, Rochelle Ross, Deidre Moon, Schquita (Tim) Calhoun, Tempie (Robert) Davis, Angie and Carla Jackson, JoAnn and Margaret Miles, Ruthann (Romel) Griggs, Tonya Barnes, Laura Mason and Brittany Scott; uncles, Sam (Zuelma) Caldwell, Craig Johnson, Steve, Roger, Mikel, Raynol, Brian and Kevin Jackson, Micah Scott and William Barnes; significant other, Quinton Spivey; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, family, friends, and special family friends: Mane, Kristin, Deonna, Ed, Weada, Monica, Anthony, Ms. Gloria, and many more.

Visitation 10AM and Funeral Service 11AM Friday, February 21, 2020 at Mt. Hermon Missionary Baptist Church, 2283 Sunbury Road.

Interment at Evergreen Burial Park.
