Towana Rene O’Bannon was born in Columbus, Ohio on March 16, 1957. She departed this life on October 27, 2020.

Towana graduated with Honors at Linden McKinley High School after that she worked for Lucy Puppets over 15 years, and never missed a pay.

Towana loved church, always willing to help in the kitchen when needed. She also worked in church with Vacation Bible School. Towana was very loved at Tabernacle Baptist Church where she attended since an early age. She was a strong woman who loved helping others. God took her on Home to be with all the Angles.

Towana was preceded in death by her parents, William H. O’Bannon and Ruth Elenora Copeland O’Bannon; and nephew, Joshua O’Bannon.

Towana never had any kids of her own. She leaves to cherish her memory, brother, William O’Bannon Jr.; sister, Leontyne O’Bannon; nephews, Javon Bondurant, Randy Cooper Jr., and Shauntavia O’Bannon; niece, Sahra O’Bannon; aunts, Emma McCoy, Pearly Ann Gwen, Norma O’Bannon, and Lillian Traylor; special friends, Donna Wilson and Maurita Ferguson; and a host of cousins, and friends.

Visitation 6:00pm and Funeral 7:0pm Friday, November 13, 2020 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH, 2500 Cleveland Ave.

Towana, I’m so grateful that we learned as kids that our moms were not just best friends but cousins. Their relationship gave us a lot of time together growing up as kids through adulthood. You were a second mom to my children. They affectionately called you “Aunt Towana.” Billie, Tina and family.. I am praying for all of us as we navigate through these rough waters of life. I love you… Always & Forever
