JacksonTrenton

On Friday, July 3, 2020, Trenton (Trent) Arlon Hakeem Jackson, Sr., age 28, — a Columbus, OH resident earned his heavenly wings during a swimming accident in Baltimore, OH.

Born on February 9, 1992 in Toledo, OH. Trenton played saxophone while serving in the Fantastic Dancing Machine Band at Scott High School. In 2010, he graduated from the Bill and Melinda Gates Fellowship Program at Scott High School. He earned a band scholarship to attend college.

Trenton’s passion for the saxophone continued while attending Central State University (CSU), Wilberforce, OH. He became a proud member of the Invincible Marching Marauders Band (IMM). He met his soon-to-be wife, Perrace Hughes. They later relocated to Huntington, WV to attend Marshall University. Their son, Trenton, Jr. was born there in 2014. They returned to Grove City, OH and he continued to work for Amazon Fulfillment Center, Groveport, OH.

On August 18, 2018, Trenton and Perrace exchanged their wedding vows. He sincerely loved his wife Perrace and son Trenton, Jr. There was nothing that he would not have done for either of them.
In the eyes of his Grandmother Paulette, Trenton could do no wrong. He was her favorite. Often called, the “Three Amigos” he was a stairstep to Kamaryn Ford (uncle/brother) and Marvin McCollum (cousin/brother). They were remarkably close as children. They loved to play Super Smash Brothers video games together. He inherited this love-affair of video games from his mother, Gwen. Now his son, Trenton, Jr. is hooked too much to his mother’s dismay.

Trent served as an Amazon Forklift Operator in Huntington, WV. Then, he transferred for a promotion to Groveport, OH. After a layoff from Amazon, he briefly worked for Kroger Great Lake Distribution Center, Delaware, OH and served as a Mail Carrier for the U. S. Postal Service. During his final days, Trenton’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to the Foreign Exchange Market where he traded stock as an Independent Contractor.

He worshipped at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, Columbus, OH. Trenton hungered to know the Word of God and studied his bible frequently during his off time.

Trenton Arlon Hakeem Jackson, Sr. was a family man with an honest and decent heart. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Perrace M.G. Jackson; son, Trenton A.H. Jackson, Jr.; mother, Gwen Jackson; father, Curtis Phifer; brother, Elliott Stewart, Jr.; sister, Jazzlyne Phifer; father-like-figure, Elliott Stewart, Sr.; grandparents, Ron & Paulette Saunders and Gail & Anna Davis; grandmothers-in-law, Constance Hughes and Brenda Wilder; great-uncles, William (Herman) Jackson, Cornelius Whaley, Johnny Beckley and James Allen; great-aunt Pamelia Jackson, Ruth Beckley and Delores Whaley; uncle/brother, Kamaryn Ford; cousin/brother, Marvin McCollum; in-laws, Jeffrey & Serbennia Davis, Michael & Denise Hughes; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family members and friends; and his Central State University Band family, the Invincible Marching Marauders.

Private Visitation 6:00 PM and Funeral Service 7:00 PM Friday, July 17, 2020 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave.
