Van Lee Smith, 51 of Columbus, Ohio passed away Saturday, September 25, 2021 at St. Ann’s Methodist Hospital. He was born July 5, 1970 in Delaware, Ohio to Robert Russell and the late Flora Lynn Smith.

Van worked for Wheels Transportation for a year. Van was an avid fan of Ohio State Buckeyes and Pittsburg Steelers. He loved family gatherings, music, Kevin Gates, pets, and food. He had a magnificent personality and was very inspirational to all he encounter ed. Van had a smile that brightened up any room.

Van is preceded in death by his mother, Flora Lynn Smith; grandparents, Orville James Smith, Winifred Thomas Smith, and Mary Russell; and daughter, Chasmine Ellison.

Van leaves to cherish his memories, father, Robert (Sally) Russell; fiancé, Jada Ellison; children, Jasmine, Kani (Bianca), Yasmin, Kuran, Roberta, Brandy, DJ, Khaneem, and Nydream; brothers, Jason and Dana; sisters, Daneisha (Ryan) Russell, and Heidi; several aunts and uncles, including special aunt, Fran Hill; special uncle, Reese; special cousins, Sean Hill and Tamecca Price; several friends; and the mothers of his children, Traci, Toiya, and Crystal.

Visitation 10:00am and Funeral 11:00am Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Christian Valley, 3330 Scottwood Road.
