Vera M. Green

Vera M. Green was born February 20, 1935 to the parents of Charles and Lulla Green in Columbus, Ohio. Vera passed away on December 31, 2019 at the age 84 at Grant Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

Vera attended Friendship Missionary Baptist Church at a very early age. Vera attended Central High School in Columbus, Ohio. She worked at various Nursing Homes caring for people, and she retired from Children’s Hospital. Her 1st Important Job was B-I-N-G-O. She will say “I’m going to work. I might or might not get paid”!!!

Vera enjoyed watching Family Feud and America Say all day and night. She loved her family very much.

Vera was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lulla Green; brothers, William and Charles Jr. Green; and sisters, Mary, Geraldine (Larry Smith), and Ora (Donald) Travis.

Vera leaves to cherish her memories to her daughter, Rosie Dickerson of Columbus, Oho; sisters, Lulla (John ) Zellner, Betty of Kansa City, and Juanita and Minnie (Frank) Cunningham of Columbus, Ohio; brothers, James Green and Mu; grandchildren, Kenya, RaShawn, Jeannine, Katrina, Ophelia, Kenya, Andre, Kesha and Tia; great grandchildren, Savaugha, Rashawn, Jada, Rashaid, Marshawn, Taylor, Ra’Onna, and Jamari; great-great grandchildren, Journey, Jay-Vaugh and Jaishaun; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Visitation 12:00 PM and Funeral Service 1:00 PM Thursday, January 9, 2020 at MARLAN GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST 5456 E. Livingston Ave.

Interment at Eastlawn Cemetery.

      It is with great sadness that I offer my condolences in your hour of bereavement. Maude was always a shining light of joy and happiness and supportive of all our family endeavors. Her legacy of kindness and compassion while surely missed, will undoubtedly continue as you and all the family come together in cherishing the bond of love.
