Vernon Bunny Poindexter peacefully passed away on September 26, 2020 at the age of 64. Vernon was born on January 17, 1956 to Delores and Fred Banks, Sr.

Vernon’s passions were reading, and his God giving gift of drawing. There wasn’t any subject past or present or person that he wasn’t knowledgeable about. He would leave you in awe. What he saw and drew threw his eyes was pure astounding. He had a love for animals. He loved old school groups and his Stylistics. He was known for his honesty, his humor, his self-sacrificing and his generosity. He had such a gentle and loving spirit that always shined through him.

Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, Delores and Fred Banks, Sr.; and brother, Gerald Poindexter.

Vernon is survived by his sisters, Gayle Poindexter and Laura Poindexter; brothers, Fred Banks Jr. and Phillip Poindexter; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Vernon will be truly missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

Vernon Bunny Poindexter‘s Family,

I was saddened when I learned of Brother Vernon Bunny Poindexter‘s passing. Our family had and will forever have fond memories of Brother Poindexter. He affectionately called my son “little” Twitty.

During our family’s membership at 7Th Avenue Community Baptist Church in the campus area Brother Poindexter would visit often. Usually during his visit he would asked for Brother Twitty because he knew I would give him items out of our church’s food pantry or he and I would walk over to the Dollar General or Kroger’s stores and buy him some food items. God bless you my Brother and much Love!

Praying that God grant peace, comfort and encouragement to Brother Poindexter’s family – Psalm 121.
