Mrs. Viola (Byers) Williams was born October 6, 1937 in Kentucky to the late Mr. Olice L. Byers and Mrs. Fanny Mae Byers.

Viola graduated from West Virginia State College with a Business degree and IBM Degree. Viola later received a degree in Cosmetology and opened a beauty shop which was called Jazzi Vi’s. Viola was a woman of many talents. She enjoyed bowling, and planting vegetables in the garden. She loved doing hair in her beauty salon. She loved to play cards, listening to music, and going to church. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to cook and was known for her cakes and pies from scratch.

Viola was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ollie Williams; father, Mr. Olice Byers; mother, Mrs. Fanny Mae Byers; brother, Otis Byers Sr.; sisters, Loretha Sanders, and Mrs. Mattie Austin; sons, Charles Meeks, Tyrone Williams, and Ollie Williams Jr.; and daughter, Kathey Gibson.

Viola leaves to cherish her memory, loving daughters, Margaret (Gene) Chaney, and Tammy (Darrell) Baker of SC; sisters, Thella Shepard, and Mary Smith of Cols, OH: brother, Hosea Byers of Cols, OH; daughter-in-law, Thelma Williams of Cols, OH; grandchildren, Monica (Jeff) Watkins, Tamara Byers, Clarence Fowler, Sabrina (Greg) Oden, Selina Williams, TiaWana (Milliken) Watson of SC, Jasmine Williams, Lawan Williams, Ollie (Amanda) Williams III, Roshan (Kelly) Williams, CorQuette Herrin of SC, Shekila Williams, Tammie Williams, Shundia Hunt, Tyler Williams, Tymaine Williams, Jelesis Baker, Quinn Baker of SC, Daris Meek,  and Sherrell Meek of Springfield, IL; great grandchildren, JaQuala, Jeffrey and JaQuoia Watkins, Courtney Fleming, JaCinda Brown, Brianna Fowler, Londyn Oden, Calvin Lige Jr., Amir Jackson, Clarence Fowler V of Cols, OH, and Aryah Clark of SC.; great-great grandchildren, Jaden McLemore, Ja’Nia Jones, and Ezekiel Brown; niece, Shirley (Byers) Brown; Ivy, Amelia, Robert, Jimmy, Ernest and a host of other nieces and nephews.

Visitation 10:00 AM and Funeral Service 11:00 AM Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Macedonia Baptist Church , 492 Oakwood Ave.

Interment at Evergreen Burial Park.
