Vonta Leroy Stanley affectionately known as “Von”, was born on Thursday, December 12, 1974 in Columbus, Ohio
to Hope Stanley and the late James Cole. He departed this life unexpectedly on Friday, February 10, 2023 at his
residence.

Von attended Centennial High School. Later in life he would go on to be saved and give his life to the Lord and was
baptized on April 4, 2021. This was Von’s greatest accomplishment in life and that he was very proud of.

Von was a gentle giant, whose benevolence never went unnoticed. He would do anything for anybody in need as
long as he was able to. Von would give the shirt off his back with no questions asked. Anyone that knew Von knew
that he was a hard worker, and he loved his job. He was employed by The Sweet Shop for many years and was a
dependable worker whether he worked here in Ohio, or was needed in Florida, he always showed up. His favorite
quote was “If it don’t make dollars it don’t make sense”. His favorite rappers were Tupac and DMX.

Von loved family especially his mother, Hope. When he wasn’t working he was always up for some family time. He
was a die hard Bengals and Cav’s fan. He also enjoyed wrestling, playing basketball, football, and spades. Von could
make you laugh without even trying, he was a natural born comedian! He was very passionate when it came to
cooking. Everything he cooked, he made with love.

Von is preceded in death by his father; James Cole, grandfather; Harold Brown, grandmother; Jean Stanley, uncles;
Russell, Harold, and Shawn Stanley, cousins; Destiny Stanley, Arthur Smith, Brittney, and Ray Stanley.

He leaves to cherish his memory, mother; Hope (Ronald) Stanley, brothers; Joseph, Quan, and James (China)
Stanley, sisters; Marquetta, Jeanetta, and Latoya Stanley, uncles; David (Jaquetta), and Shannon Stanley, aunts;
Charity, and Candy Stanley, special cousin; Michael Stanley, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and
friends. Von was loved greatly and will be missed very much by everyone.
