Woyneshet Mamo went home to be with the Lord on January 23, 2022. She was born on May 13, 1958, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
She was raised in Ethiopia and when she was older moved to Greece where her aunt was living at the time. After living in Greece for some time, she went on to move to Los Angeles, California where she later met her husband, Samuel. While in Los Angeles, she attended college to be a dental lab technician. After getting married and when her daughter was about eight years of age, the family moved to Columbus, Ohio.
Her favorite hobby was gardening. She loved planting a variety of different flowers and herbs. She loved to cook and was very good at cooking her traditional Ethiopian cuisine and American dishes.
She loved God with all her heart, and she was a very caring person and wanted to help anyone she could.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Samuel ‘Tsegaye’ Alemu.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Samra Alemu, her brothers Debebe Seifu and Shimelis Gebremeskel, and her nieces Leah Seifu and Lydia Seifu.
Visitation 10:00 AM and Private Funeral Service 11:00 AM Monday, February 7, 2022 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave. (one block east of Noe Bixby, turn North on Lonsdale Rd.). Interment at Glen Rest Memorial Estates.
