Yvonne A. Stockton of Columbus, OH passed away Friday, August 20, 2021 at Ohio State Wexner Medical Center. She was born on February 8, 1959 in Welch, WV. She was the youngest daughter of the late James D. Stockton, Sr. and Sylvia A. Stockton.

Yvonne attended McDowell County Public Schools in WV. She was a 1978 graduate of Northfork High School. Upon graduating high school, she moved to New Jersey where she attended Princeton University. There she received a certificate as a Nurse Aide. She later moved to Columbus, OH. She worked as an aide until her health prohibited her from working.

Yvonne took pleasure in spending time on the phone with her family members and friends, especially with her cousin, Octavia Stockton.

In addition to her parents, James and Sylvia, she was preceded in death by one brother, Frankie Stockton; and two sisters, Mary Jones and Constance Johnson.

Those left to cherish her memory include her three brothers, David Stockton, Jr. of Ocala, FL, William Kermit (Sadie) and Reginald Stockton both of Columbus, OH; one sister, Alethia (Kevin Baker) Craighead; one sister-in-law, Karen Stockton; and one uncle and aunt, Clarence (Betty) Stockton of Trenton, NJ; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Visitation 10:00am and Memorial Service 11:00am Monday, August 30, 2021 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH, 2500 Cleveland Ave.

    I am so sorry to hear of Yvonne’s passing. I knew her for many years as a customer at my pharmacy. Over the years we became friends and spoke many times a week. Yvonne was very supportive when I went through my chemo and tried to deal with my cancer diagnosis. She was a sweet soul and will surely be missed. May Our Lord bless her and keep her in His love and grace. God Bless You Yvonne…you will be missed.
