Mr. Albert Abaka-Sampson and his beloved wife, Mrs. Helena Abaka-Sampson lived in Westerville, Ohio. Mr. & Mrs. Abaka-Sampson met their untimely death in the early mornings of Tuesday April 21st, 2020 from fatal injuries in a vehicle accident. Mr. & Mrs. Abaka-Sampson were married for 33 years and they were life-long partners who deeply loved and cherished each other. They are survived by two daughters, Ms. Ewurama Abaka-Sampson and Ms. Baaba Abaka-Sampson, and their only grandson, Israel Abaka-Sampson.

Albert enjoyed long morning walks at the park. He was an educator who loved science and reading. His favorite book was Animal Farm. He was a compassionate caregiver who took care of his wife when she was ill. He adored his grandson who emulated his every move. Dad was a reserved, humble, and resilient soul who encouraged us to strive to be better each day.

Helena was a phenomenal cook who spent several hours each Sunday preparing meals for the family. She was a vivacious woman who loved to dance. She was fun, happy, intuitive and full of life. She was empathetic. Sometimes too empathetic. She could feel your feelings so deeply that she took it up as her own burden. She encouraged self-awareness and the importance of living blissfully free. Like Dad, she was resilient. Working 2-3 jobs at a time, she worked hard and continuously strived for success.

Our parents were the true embodiments of love. They were non-judgmental and accepted everyone. Together, they preached compassion, resilience, and hard work. We will miss them deeply.

Visitation 8:30 AM and Funeral Service 9:30 AM Saturday, May 9, 2020 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH 2500 Cleveland Ave.

Interment at Blendon Central Cemetery.
