Alesia L. Combs, age 50 of Columbus, Ohio went Home to be with The Lord, on Sunday, June 6, 2021, surrounded by her mother and brother, with a peaceful transition.
She was born to parents: John D. Combs, Sr and Helen L. Combs-Dulaney on August 18, 1970.
She was a graduate of Northland High School, Columbus, OH, and Ohio Dominican College. She was currently pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree online.
She was previously employed at Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) for several years and was currently employed by Ayers Staffing, as a Front Desk Coordinator.
She was a former member of Triedstone Missionary Baptist church, where she served in many capacities.
Lisa loved bowling, fishing with family members and working with children. She tutored children in after school programs. Most of all she loved traveling, and had a goal to run all 50 states, running for a cure for cancer. She loved cooking and did it well, a talent she acquired from her mother, and fed family and friends many times. Being the older sibling, John John, her younger brother was the greatest to her.
The Sisterhood as they called themselves: KK (Kimberly Carter) oldest sister, Joy West middle sister, and Lisa was the baby sister; and Tam (Tamara Nathan) handled all the events for the sisterhood. It gave her so much joy.
Most of all we must not forget her children known as her fur babies CoCo and Charlie; They were a great part of her life. She treated them better than some people treat human children.
Lisa is survived by her mother, Helen L (Sanders) Combs-Dulaney; brother, John D. Combs Jr.(Deshon); nieces, Jaida L. and Michell Hart; nephew, John D. Combs, III; stepbrothers, John R. Combs and Josh C. Combs; Stepsister, Trina Johnson; Uncle, Jimmy Drew (Evelyn) Combs Jr.; aunties, Louise Bennett and Lovadell (Jerry) Moore; godmother, June M. Hairston; best friends, Lori Smith-Kendrick, Darnell Walton and Patrick Melvin Reese. Of course, there are many relatives that Lisa loved, and even got to tell you so herself before her death. We don’t mean to slight anyone, the cousins, you know who you are because she loved you and she let you know her feelings.
She impacted many Lives and will be missed by everyone who knew her and loved her.
She fought cancer with everything she had, and when the time came that she couldn’t go anymore, she put it in God’s hands. She told her daddy and Joe, she was coming to see them soon, and told her cousin Cindy that she was going to be behind her soon. These were her words to them.
Lisa will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her and the privilege of being loved by her.
Public Walkthrough Viewing at 9:00am followed by a Private Visitation 10:00am and Private Funeral Service 11:00am Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave. (one block east of Noe Bixby, turn North on Lonsdale Rd.). Mask, Social Distancing and Tickets are required for private services. Interment at Franklin Hills Memory Gardens.

Condolences for the family of “Alesia Lanette “Lisa” Combs”
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family in this time of sorrow. May God comfort you during this time of great loss. There is a sense of helplessness was someone we love that. Many wonder how one get through this time of sorrow. Take time to reflect on the good time with your love one. Prayer is extremely valuable at this time.
My heart is heavy I meant Lisa when when my son was very young and her grandmother used to watch him at her daycare and then I met her again at Cota Lisa you will be sadly missed I will continue to keep your family in prayer!

Helen and John, please accept my deepest condolences. My heart is broken by the loss of Lisa. Our group of Cousins has so many wonderful memories especially from childhood. She is no longer suffering but it’s still hard to let go. She is now at peace with the Lord and there is nothing but praise in that!

Though this time may be difficult, God’s wisdom is infinite and has called Lisa home. May God continue to comfort you Mother Helen and Brother John as you and you family reconcile the loss of Lisa. We pray for your strength and hope that one day soon after the pain has gone, that pain will be replaced with fond memories, smiles and enjoyable remembrances.
Saddened to hear of Lisa’s passing. We worked together at one time at COTA and I thought of her as a work friend. I knew she had struggles with her health and I watched her fight hard for a long time. Now she is at home and at peace. Condolences to the family

Lisa, was an example of a true Woman of God! I was blessed to have had the honor to share a Sunday School Class and a pew on Sundays at Triedstone Missionary Baptist Church with her for years. Lisa was serious about her walk and being obedient to our God. I will remember her laughter and the times we went out to eat after church service. I thank God for the technology that allowed me “to attend” this service. To God Be the Glory for the life she led and the positive impact she had on all of us who knew and loved her!!
Sorry for your loss , Lisa was a really good person to know and she will be missed .To the family, hang in there and things will get better in time.
