Dennis James Hampton, age 50 was born in Columbus, Ohio on October 29, 1969 to the late George and Ellenstein Hampton. On July 23, 2020, an angel stopped by Grant Hospital and took him home to be with the lord.
Dennis was the youngest of 3 brothers and 2 sisters. As a child he was a huge wrestling fan and he loved playing the drums. He spent most of his life in the Southfield neighborhood and was a graduate of Marion Franklin High School.
Dennis had a long history of employment which included positions at Mount Carmel West, Twinvalley, Franklin County and most recently Amazon.
Dennis was a very family oriented person. He loved attending sporting events with his brothers. He also enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews. However, his driving force was his son Desmond.
Dennis will truly be missed for his warm smile, fun loving personality and words of encouragement.
Dennis is survived by, son, Desmond Hampton; sisters, Delores Brookins and Rhonda Nivens; brothers, Stanley (Jacquelyn) Brookins, Michael (Brenda) Hampton, and Kenneth Hampton; special friend, Yolanda Perry; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
Public Visitation 10:00 AM and Private Funeral Service 11:00 AM Friday, August 7, 2020 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave.
Masks and Social Distancing are mandatory.
Interment at Evergreen Burial Park.

My sincere condolences and prayers to the family and all who knew and loved Dennis. May God give you strength and peace. Dennis was my heart and I am broken to know that he is not here with us but I am encouraged knowing that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Dennis loved the Lord so there is no doubt for me that he is at peace with the Father. My prayers always for you all.
My condolences to the family I am hoping this is the Dennis who I knew and met he worked at Amazon if this is the same person I can say that he was a very good hard working man and very nice my condolences to you all evan if this is not the same person I’m sorry for ur lost. God bless
So sorry for your loss me and Dennis went to highschool together and were friends outside of school he will be missed
I’m still in SHOCK about the passing of Dennis Hampton. He would send me messages on Facebook asking how I was doing. He will be missed and know that he is with our heavenly father
Hey Stanley and the rest of the family, I am so sorry about Dennis. May God give all of you the peace, and consolation at this time. Dennis is gone but not lose we know where and who he is with and we will see him again. So know his lose is only temporary. Love your Uncle Tony.
