James “Jimmy” Dillard, our sweet and beloved father, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. Jimmy was a loving kindhearted person loved by all. Always greeted you with that cute, sweet smile of his. God chose Jimmy, he said come Jimmy, come unto me and rest a heart of gold stopped beating and God took our Jimmy and his precious soul went to rest.

God broke our hearts, and he only takes the best. Eternal rest grant unto Jimmy O’ Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul through the mercy of God Rest in Peace. Rest peacefully Jimmy. You will always be deep in our hearts loved forever.

Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, Theodore L. Dillard Sr. and Imogene Dillard; sister, Pastor Diane Dillard-Armistead; niece, Britani L. Scott-Dillard; uncle, Pernell Dillard; maternal and paternal grandparents; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Jimmiy leaves to cherish his memory, sister, Doris J. Dillard; brothers, Walter L. Dillard, Theodore L. Dillard Jr. and Robert (Wendy) Dillard Sr.; daughters, Tiffany Dillard, Shaunta (Ron Tolliver Sr.), and Imani Dillard; son, Rodney Perkins; 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, a special nephew, Malcom Armistead Jr.; and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation 12:00pm and Funeral 1:00pm Monday, October 4, 2021 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH, 2500 Cleveland Ave.

Interment at Green Lawn Cemetery.

My condolences to the Dillard Family. I was terribly heart broken to hear of James passing. I’ve known James well over ten years. He was always a peaceful, kind individual to me and many others. I will miss
being there for James when he would call and need a favor, or just to say hello.
