Jeffrey “Jeff” Lamar Owens, Sr. was born September 12, 1961 and departed this life on April 16, 2021.
Jeff attended Columbus Public Schools and worked for Columbus Steel Drum until becoming disabled. Jeff is a huge sports fan and loved spending time with family, as he was always the center of attention.
Jeff was a loving father, grandpa, son, brother, and true friend who will be greatly missed.
Jeff is preceded in death by father, James Pickens; and grandmother, Mamie Brinkley.
Jeff is survived by his mother, Carole Pickens; children, Jeffery L. Owens II, James West, and Tiffany Owens; grandchildren, James West, Jr., Kanori, Kalea, William, TyJuana, and Numari; siblings, Andre (Katherine) Owens, Juan (June) Pickens, Alisha (Terry) Moore, and Nicole (Floyd) Pickens.
Jeff will be truly missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
Public Visitation 1:00pm, Private Visitation 2:00pm and Funeral 3:00pm Saturday, May 8, 2021 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH, 2500 Cleveland Ave.
We would like to extend our condolences to the family. In just a little while all of the pain and sorrow that we feel from the death of our love ones will cease and be replaced with joy, because the former things have passed away. With caring thoughts.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.
Continue to rely on God and know that he hears your prayers, because he cares for you. Thinking of you all.

Man I miss you terribly unc. I always figured we would cross paths again someday, just like we always did…sorry that never happened. So glad I have a million memories of the years we kept eachother in check (LOL) good, bad, and hilarious! Love you J.O. rest easy
