John Melvin Grant, age 70. Sunrise August 12, 1946 in Westminster, SC and Sunset April 4, 2017 in Columbus, OH.

John  was a former member of Canaan Baptist Church and currently attended Christian Valley Baptist Church.  He retired from DCSC and played with The Active & Retired Government Employee Bowling League.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Willie L. Grant and Heppie Dorothy Russell and sister Carmellia Jackson.

He leaves to cherish his memory, wife of 47 years, Shirley A. Grant; son Stanley (Karen) Williams; daughters, Carmen D. Grant, Heather N. Grant, and Heidi N. Grant; brother, Kenneth T. Grant; sisters, Imogene Goodlett, Geraldine McCauley, Dorothy (Bobby) Gatewood and Wilma L. Toler; 6 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation 10:00 a.m. and Home Going Service 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 10, 2017 at Christian Valley Baptist Church 850 Studer Ave.  Interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
