Kealani Brianne Smith passed away unexpectedly on Sunday July 17, 2022 in Morganstown West Virginia at the age of 24 years old.

Kealani Brianne Smith was born on September 25, 1997 at The Ohio State University Hospital.

Kealani was a High School graduate of The Bridgescape Academy. She currently held a warehouse supervisor position with Belcan, where she was praised for keeping her department clean, organized and functioning way beyond the companies expectations.

Kealani LOVED all of her siblings and always did whatever she could to help them no matter what. She was extremely watchful, protective and a best friend to her little sister Treasure.

Kealani known to everyone as Lani was the light that brightened every room she entered. She was the one everyone would take as overdressed but to her, she was just being her beautiful one of a kind self. Kealani was a best friend to everyone and would give you her last if you needed it. She was as unique as her name and just as beautiful on the outside as she was on the inside.

Kealani had a passion for learning things on her own, including most recently, sewing using her sewing machine that she purchased.

Kealani realized the gifts and talents that were bestowed upon her and was determined to perfect those gifts and abilities because she learned that those things that gave her the most peace and made her smile were those things that she could do effortlessly.

Kealani loved being a mother to her son who she affectionately called doodle in the house and cash around everyone else. She loved that she was blessed with a son because she had someone to share her love for nature with, and she could be a kid and have fun with him at the same time. She would always say “I’m not having anymore kids mom so I hope you enjoy him and him only”.

Kealani will be deeply missed but the memories that we have of her will carry us through this lifetime.

Kealani is proceeded in death by her great-grandmothers, Francine Kelley and Mary Travis; and great-grandfathers Lummie Rhodes and Fred Travis

Kealani left behind to continue her marathon her mother and father, Latasha Glenn and Marcus Travis; step-father and step mother, Paul Glenn and Lashawnda Travis; son, Dontavious Travis; grandparents, Kim Graggs, William Lane, Rhonda Shelton-Travis, Mark Travis, and Pamela Glenn; siblings, Alexis Travis (Isaac), Dennis Francis (Courtney), Alicia Travis (Blaine), Destiny Travis, Godiva Maloney, and Treasure Maloney; step-brothers, Jaizuan, Lashawn, and Lamontae; 12 nieces and nephews, who she loved dearly especially the first one Damari’Yae, and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins that she loved dearly.

Visitation 11:00 AM and Funeral 12:00 PM Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, 2121 Joyce Ave.

Interment at Green Lawn Cemetery.

Condolences for the family of “Kealani Brianne Smith”

Condolence from Courtney Francis on July 27th, 2022 2:14 am

Lani was such a vibrant, pure soul. There wasn’t a person she came across who she couldn’t compliment. She was the type of person to make everyone feel good. Being around her, you just knew you’d have a confidence boost that day. Even if she was having a rough day, you wouldn’t know it. She’d still manage to lift you up, even while going through her own tribulations. Lani’s presence had that “at home” kind of feel. Warm and inviting; comforting and genuine. She was definitely 1 of 1! I’m going to miss you my beautiful sister-in-law. I love you, always and forever!
