In Loving Memory of Anthony D “BAY” Lamb

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Anthony D Lamb, a beloved brother, cherished friend, and a pillar of strength in the Mansfield community. He peacefully departed this world on February 10, 2024, leaving behind a legacy defined by his unwavering determination and warm spirit.

Born on November 6, 1966, in Mansfield, OH, Anthony was the proud son of his late parents Albert D. and Annie Ruth Lamb. He attended Mansfield Senior High School, where he graduated in 1985 with a diploma that marked the beginning of a remarkable journey. During his time there, he distinguished himself as a member of the Marching Band, playing the Tuba with great passion and precision, and in track and field events, where he excelled in the 100-meter, 200-meter, and his favorite, the 4×100-meter relay team. Anthony’s dedication and perseverance earned him many awards, trophies and ribbons.

Beyond his athletic talents, Anthony possessed a deep love for art and design. Known for his ability to transform odd items into beautiful works of art, he created a unique style that captivated all who had the privilege of witnessing his creativity. Additionally, he developed a genuine passion for the culinary arts, delighting family and friends with his delicious creations.

Anthony’s devotion also extended to his favorite teams, undoubtedly making him the biggest fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns. His unwavering support and unwavering enthusiasm made him a fixture in front of the television on game days, cheering on his beloved teams with unparalleled excitement.

A man of great faith, Anthony was a longtime member of New Life Baptist Church, formerly known as Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church. This spiritual sanctuary was a place where he found solace and community. He actively participated in the choir and usher board, exemplifying his commitment to serving others. It was within the Sunshine Band that Anthony discovered his talent for playing the piano.

Anthony’s memory will forever be cherished by his loving sister, Jeanetta Collier, and brother, Christopher (Lisa) Sykes, who shared an unbreakable bond with him. Together, they experienced life’s joys and tribulations, creating a family dynamic filled with love and support. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved brother, Michael, whose memory he carried in his heart. He is also survived by his uncle Billy Sykes who spent many hours sharing and talking creating a great bond. Anthony will also be missed by a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including his great neighbors and friends Denise and Gary.

Visitation 11:00am and Funeral 12:00 noon Saturday, February 17, 2024, at MARLAN GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE MANSFIELD 753 McPherson St. (formerly Williams Funeral Services).

Anthony D Lamb will forever remain in our hearts as a beacon of strength, a source of inspiration, and a symbol of unwavering faith. May his soul find eternal peace in the loving arms of our Creator.
