Dan taylor 2

Dan Taylor Sr., a beloved member of the Mansfield community, peacefully passed away on December 13, 2023, at the age of 71. He was born on July 18, 1952, in Brownsville, Tennessee to the late Prince Albert and Onger Mae (Bond) Taylor. Dan was a highly respected and cherished individual, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be remembered.

Dan led a fulfilling life dedicated to his family, career, and passions. He worked diligently for the Luntz Co as a crane operator in the scrap yard industry, showcasing his unwavering commitment and exceptional skills. With a strong work ethic, he provided for his loved ones and set an inspiring example for future generations.

Family was at the heart of Dan’s existence. He cherished every moment spent with his children: Savalas (Lori) Taylor, Dan Taylor Jr. Antonio Harris, Shenee Harris and LeVonda Meade. Among his loved ones were also his sisters Jean (Taylor) Dotson and Crista Taylor, a brother Elmo (Shirley) Taylor, 2 sisters-in-law Viola Bond and Mable Taylor, a brother-in-law James Lee. He will be lovingly remembered by his 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who were blessed to have him in their lives.

Dan held fond memories of his family that preceded him in death including his parents, Prince Albert and Onger Mae (Bond) Taylor, wife, Mary (Meade) Taylor and siblings, Eileen and Frank Petty Sr., Evern Lee, Fred Taylor, Eddie Taylor, James Bond and Joseph Taylor.

Dan’s passions were many, and they brought immense joy to his life. He had an inherent talent for working on cars, and his hands skillfully transformed vehicles into prized possessions. Dan found true happiness in spending quality time with his family, sharing laughter, stories, and creating lasting memories. He possessed an infectious love for music and dance, especially admiring the works of Tu Pac. An exceptional storyteller, his narrative prowess captivated listeners, leaving them longing for more tales from his rich life.

Visitation 10:00am and Funeral 11:00am December 22, 2023, at Providence Baptist Church 112 W. 6th St. Pastor Mark Cobb eulogizing. Interment at Mansfield Cemetery.

Although Dan has departed this earthly realm, his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May his soul find eternal peace, and may his legacy inspire us to cherish our families, pursue our passions, and embrace the beauty of life just as he did.

Rest in Peace, Dan Taylor Sr.
