Mr. Johnny Jones, 72, passed away on April 22, 2021. Johnny was born on May 17, 1948 in Logan, WV to Henry Jones and Mamie Jones.

Johnny attended Logan, WV Public School System. He was a graduate of Fayette High School. In 1968 he and his family moved to Columbus, Ohio. After moving to Columbus, he gained employment with Columbus Parks and Recreation. He also umpired for them.

Johnny was a long- time member of Oakley Full Gospel Baptist Church where he was baptized and accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior. He was a trustee, supervisor of building maintenance, and a dedicated member of The Corinthians Church Group.

He is preceded in death by Henry Jones (Father), Mamie Jones (Mother), Siblings, Robert, Irene (Layne), Linda, Henrietta (Acklin), May, and Albert Jones.

Johnny is survived by wife Evelyn Jones; son Johnny Jones Jr.; daughter Tammy Jones-Francisco. Siblings Guy, Alberta (Matthews), Leroy, Essic, Charles, Brenda, Ann and Mark Jones. Eight grandchildren and Six great grandchildren and a host of relatives, family and friends.

Johnny will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing and loving him.

Public Visitation 9:00 AM and Private Funeral Service 10:00 AM Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Oakley Full Gospel Baptist Church, 3415 El Paso Dr. Mask and Social Distancing are required. My condolences to you and your family. You would not know me by name, but I always sat 2 or 3 rows behind your husband Sundays at church, and you would recognize me by face. He was one of the nicest people I had the pleasure of meeting. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.
