Obituary

In loving memory of Steven McClain

Steven McClain, a beloved son, brother, and father, passed away on February 4, 2024, in Mansfield, OH, at the age of 41. Born on June 8, 1982, in Mansfield, he was the cherished son of Benita McClain and Steven Taylor.

Steven was known for his kind and compassionate nature. He possessed a strong desire to help others, constantly going out of his way to lend a helping hand. This selflessness was reflected in his love for fixing computers, always eager to use his skills to assist those in need. Steven also had a passion for playing video games, an activity that brought him joy and allowed him to connect with friends and family.

A true people person, Steven had an infectious personality and never met a stranger. He possessed a genuine love for conversation and would engage anyone he encountered with warmth and respect. He valued connections and cherished the relationships he cultivated throughout his life.

Steven had a deep interest in sports, and his heart belonged to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Jacksonville Jaguars. He would eagerly support his favorite teams, watching games with enthusiasm and sharing in the triumphs and challenges that came with being a dedicated fan.

Steven was preceded in death by his brother, Donte’ R. Wright and sister, Mikeah V. Marshall.

Left to honor Steven’s memory are his mother, Benita McClain; father, Minister Steven (LaWanda) Taylor; brothers, Demetrius McClain and Terry McClain; sisters, Stelina McClain, Shamika L Taylor, Shardae A Taylor, Tyanda A Harris, Jasmine M Wright; and brother, Steven J. Taylor. He is also survived by his beloved daughter, Allyah Allyah, who was the light of his life. He is also survived by special friends, Brien James and Micah V. Marshall and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
