HurdleRicketa

Minister Ricketa Louise Hurdle was born on March 16, 1976, to Minster Deboria Hurdle and Rickey Allen at South Chicago Community Hospital in Chicago, IL.

Known as “Keta” by her family and friends, she was a bubbly child with bright eyes and even a brighter smile! Keta was raised with her two younger brothers and her cousins as siblings. They spent many days together running up and down the stairs together, playing games, and riding their bikes outside of the family’s building, they named “1717” and their Uncle Julius who lived next door!

Keta accepted Christ at the age of six and was baptized alongside her twin cousins, Sheri & Cheryl at New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church of Chicago under the leadership of the late Pastor Jeff Brown. Keta thrived in Sunday School, Bible Class, and was a member of the Inspirational Youth Choir and the Voices of New Prospect. During her teen years she sang with the Hyde Park Community Gospel Choir of Chicago, under the direction of Pastor LaRue F. Kidd.

Keta was a product of the Chicago Public School System. She received her elementary education at Clara Barton Elementary School. She received her High School Diploma at Chicago Vocational High School where she majored in Business and was a proud graduate of the Class of 1994.

Enter, Jackson State University, Jackson, MS in Jan 1995. Jackson MS is where Minister Ricketa first became affiliated with The Church of The Living God International Inc. at True Vine CLGI under the Pastorage of Pastor David Burgess. She started a Bible Study at Jackson State along with Sis Ashley Whitaker. She was a Faithful worker at True Vine CLGI and traveled up and down the road to Gulfport MS, Fort Walton Beach FL, Birmingham AL, and New Orleans LA. Keta kept on working and serving the Lord and received her Minister’s license in 1997 at the General Assembly in Columbus, OH.

In May of 2000, Minster Ricketa received her bachelor’s degree in Special Education from Jackson State University. The Lord then led her on to Gulfport MS where she became a member of Christ the Redeemer CLGI under the pastorage of Pastor Carlos Thompson and Asst Pastor Darryl Tanner. It was here where she was filled with THE HOLY GHOST and began PROPHECY. Minster Ricketa served as Usher President, Missionary, in the Elect Ladies department, and in the Youth Departments. She also was nominated for Missionary of the Year in 2003. She was employed at Gulfport Behavioral while in Gulfport, MS.

After Hurricane Katrina hit, God led Ricketa to The Church of The Living God International Inc. headquarters church, The Pool of Bethesda in Columbus Ohio. Minster Ricketa was so excited and proud to become a member of the POB. Ricketa really loved The Lord, His Church and His People. She worked diligently and steadfastly at the Pool.

As a missionary, Bishop sent Minister Ricketa and Minister Tyese Baker out to build up the following churches in the Columbus District: The Fathers House CLGI, Abundant Mercy CLGI, Hope and Eternal Life CLGI and New Day CLGI.

Keta loved singing for the Lord and was a part of the POB Adult Choir where she served as Vice President. As a Deaconess, Minister Ricketa was so proud and humble when serving communion to the saints and wearing her white. She took none of it for granted and meant every part of her service to God. She became an office worker at the Pool and over the Data Entry team at the General Assembly. Minister Ricketa was nominated to serve as the local POB Church Secretary and Secretary to the Board of Trustees.
