Roberta Lane Pigott went home peacefully to her Lord and Savior on December 2, 2023, at the age of 78.

She was born on January 31, 1945 in Evergreen, Alabama to Arthur and Charlotte (Likely) Lane. Roberta married her longtime friend and love, Mr. Julius Pigott Sr. on October 6, 1973, who lives on to cherish her memory.

Roberta loved to be surrounded by family and friends. She absolutely loved her family, cooking, shopping and playing cards.

Roberta loved to serve, sing and complete her Deaconess duties at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church where she was a faithful life long and active member.

Her life was a living example of her favorite Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32, “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.”

Roberta is survived by her husband, Julius; son, Shy’Costa Pigott; bonus sons, Julius and Eric Pigott; daughter in love, Vonda Brent; 2 grandsons, Monte Brooks and Yondaz Pigott; 6 granddaughters, Nicole Pigott, ShyKyah Spears, Niahana Lane, Jahkaylah and Shy’Lynn Pigott and Denijah Brent; 6 great grandchildren, Monte J. and Key’Monty Brooks, Nila, Neema and Norah Pigott, Nihveah Jackson; 1 great-great grandchild, Taeliyah DeMoss; 1 sister, Lillie (Frank) Gill; 5 brothers, Willie (Gloria), Mizel (Lillie Pearl), Mack, Willie (Maezillia) and Terry (Mary) Lane; special niece, Iris Dillon. Along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mrs. Roberta Pigott was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, James E., Willie C., James Z. Lane; sister, Martha Dillon and granddaughter, Zha’Kyla Jackson.

Visitation 8:30 AM and Funeral Service 9:30 AM Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church -Mansfield , 343 N. Main St.. Interment at Mansfield Cemetery Association. Ministry of Comfort entrusted to MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, MANSFIELD CHAPEL, 753 McPherson St. (formerly Willams Funeral Services). Terry, Willie, & Iris, our sincere condolences to you and your entire family. We are praying for God to continue to give you strength, comfort, and encourage your hearts as He carries you through this very painful and sorrowful time. Please know that I regret that I wasn’t able to be there for the “Celebration of Roberta’s life, and her Home-Going” physically, but I was with you in heart & spirit. We love you all and we will continue to lift you up in prayer, not just now, but in all the weeks, months, and years to come.
Roberta was a wonderful person, sweet, kind, with a bright smile, and personality to match. She will certainly be missed and forever loved, and never forgotten, that’s for sure.
Roberta sleep on and take your rest, you race has been run, and you ran it well, now it is finished.
