Sorry to hear of the passing of your mother we went to school together in Elkhorn West Virginia I pray that you understand God is too wise to make a mistake you have my deepest sympathy

Words cannot express the joy, the life lessons, and the precious moments I was able to share with The #1 Doll, Aunt Lurlene. In the good times and in the not so good times she inspired me to be greater, showed me what a committed woman looked like, encouraged me to be all that I could be and taught me how to play a mean hand of Bid Whist (smile). But most of all she was the catalyst that brought me over to New Birth Christian Ministries where I was given many opportunities to utilize the Spiritual Giftedness that God given me. I was her Blink Blink and her #2 Doll. So family/friends, think on the good times, the lovely times, the smiles, the joy, the tenacity and the T-shirts (lol) when you think about this Lady of Legacy called Lurlene.

My Sincere Condolences and Heartfelt Sympathy to the Moore family! Our families were drawn close by our father and grandfather who sung in a Four Quartets, most of our childhood and young adults life! I would come down to Southfield to visit with “Uncle Mal” and your mom would be busy with her business! Great work of art. Sadly miss by all who knew and came into contact with her! A true, blessed and highly favored woman of God! #1gem

Sending love and my deepest condolences to the Moore Family regarding the passing of their matriarch, Miss Lurlene. Words can’t express my feelings today. As a childhood friend of my mother; Velma (Townes) Hawkins-Miller, Miss Lurlene has been in my life from the beginning.

She was the life and light of any gathering she attended. Always laughing and smiling, Miss Lurlene was “dressed for success” from head to toe. I couldn’t help but laugh when Kenny and I found ourselves back in West Virginia for yet another one of their high school class reunions.

Miss Lurlene and her children were part of our family, they have always been and will continue to be. Yes, it was a sad day when I found out about her passing; however, I will rejoice knowing she has reunited with her dear friend Velma. I’m sure they are there together already planning the next Class of 1955 reunion.

Peace be with you Miss Lurlene, give my Mommy a hug for me. Love you both. ❤️

My condolences and prayers to Pastor Kenneth Moore and his family. Your Mom and I use to sit together sometime in church and she would always hand me something to take to my office and sell. I obeyed and enjoyed doing so. She loved you, her family and she loved the New Birth Church family. You have many beautiful memories to always remember your Mother and to keep her in your heart. Continue to stay prayerful and faithful. It takes time when you loose your Mother; but each day it gets a little easier to bear.

I had no idea Mrs. Moore passed. I definitely would’ve been at the service to pay my respects and give my condolences. Mrs. Moore was my heart! I met her when I was in the fourth grade. Her foster child, Hazel, was my best friend. I remember her and my dad would get together in her basement and play the guitar, keyboard and whatever else she had down there. Then she would make me sing hahaha. As I got older, I always made sure to stop by and check on her before she moved from Orson. She was a great neighbor and great woman of God. She will truly be missed.

No on can replace YOUR MOTHER, but God can and will comfort your heart..May her memory always be with US… Our condolences ..

Jesse and Andrea Barrett wish to thank the Moore Family for sharing Lurlene with us. Jesse bowled with she and Rufus and “oh what a time they had!” She was always smiling, always had a kind word to say, and even when she bowled bad, she never lost that beautiful smile and disposition. She is truly in Heaven with God. She is out of the pains of this world and safe in the Arms of Jesus. Be comforted in that fact. We were sorry to have missed her homegoing service and pray that Kenny and the entire family know that we share your grief in these moments.
