In Loving Memory of Ta’Kiya Monet’ Yvette Young
August 1, 2002 – August 24, 2023
It is with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Ta’Kiya Monet’ Yvette Young, a loving daughter, sister, mother, and cherished friend. Born on August 1, 2002, in Columbus, Ohio, Ta’Kiya’s vibrant spirit touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She departed this world on August 24, 2023, in Sandusky, Ohio, at the age of 21.
Ta’Kiya’s journey through life reflected her captivating personality and zest for living. She enjoyed her role in the Customer Service industry, bringing joy and laughter to guests at Cedar Point, where she was employed. Ta’Kiya found joy in the simple pleasures of life, dedicating her time to activities such as cooking, dancing, and creating TikTok videos. Her vibrant spirit and prankster nature filled every room she entered, spreading laughter and light to all around her.
A resilient athlete, Ta’Kiya pursued her passion for track and field during her time at Champion Middle School and Bridgescape High School. Alongside her pursuits, she embraced her role as a loving mother to her two cherished sons, Ja’kobie and Ja’kenlei. Ta’Kiya eagerly anticipated the arrival of her little girl, a joy that was unfortunately not fulfilled.
Ta’Kiya’s legacy lives on through the enduring love of her surviving family members: her father, Timothy Young Sr.; her grandmother, Nadine Young; her sister, Ta’Nyla Young; her sister, Ta’Laya Hope; her brother, Timothy Young Jr.; her brother, Lazarus Young Lawson, and her great-grandmother, Johnnie Rouse. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Danneka Hope.
A funeral service will take place at The Church of Christ at Genessee Ave. 1889 Genessee Ave. on September 7, 2023, at 2:00 pm, with visitation starting at 1:00 pm.
Though we grieve the loss of Ta’Kiya, let us remember her vibrant spirit, her infectious laughter, and her genuine love for those around her. In our hearts, she will forever reside, her memory a beacon of strength and joy.
Forever loved and cherished, Ta’Kiya Monet’ Yvette Young will be profoundly missed but never forgotten. May she rest in eternal peace.

To the Young Family,
It is with a heavy heart that my family and I wish to convey our condolences and send prayers to all the family,especially her two precious little boys.
My family and I never had the pleasure of meeting this lovely young woman. It is such a saddened moment in the way in which my family,as well as the rest of this world has gotten a glimpse into Ta’Kiya’s life in such an incredibly tragic and
unnecessary situation. Ta’Kiya has once again been reunited with her mother and her baby girl meeting her grandmother. God has placed all three of these beautiful souls in charge of watching over all of the family while soaring high on their glorious wings in the heavenly kingdom above.

I am so profoundly sorry for your loss, this should never have happened. I cannot imagine how you feel right now. I never met Ta’kiya and I don’t know your family but I know her loss is a tragedy that everyone should feel. I feel it. Please know that there are people who care. She sounds like an amazing young lady from your obituary and I’ve no doubt she was even more amazing than you could put in writing. I am so sorry for the loss of her baby too. I pray for you to have the strength to withstand your grief and the fortitude to deal with the racist idiots and trolls that are no doubt harassing you. Ta’kiya will not be forgotten even by this complete stranger.

I heard about the funeral service today on the radio news here in Nassau, New Providence, Bahamas. I Googled ‘Takeya Young’ and was so hurt to find out that this precious young mother lost her life when she was heartlessly shot for a matter that did not need an armed officer at all.
We don’t understand how things like this happen, but God knows all things and sees everything. Justice will prevail in the end. Be comforted to know that the Lord is with us during these tough times, especially when we need Him. The Lord will see you all through this. He will carry you through, because He is our refuge and strength, and ever-present Help in trouble. Psalm 46:!

I am so sorry to learn of Ta’kaya’s passing. I didn’t know of her but, I am so heartbroken to know this happened to her but and her daughter. I mourn with you and keep your family in my heart. Angels be with you.
Through this confusing time, when you cannot find the words to say. Remember … Only God can judge.
I pray the family can find peace and comfort one day knowing she is with our lord & savior. Jesus Christ. Amen.
