Taureen “Tory” Donald Tinsley, age 37, was born June 22, 1983 in Washington, D.C. to late Donald Tinsley and the late Denise (Johnson) Tinsley. He departed this life unexpectedly on May 12, 2021.
Tory was a resident of Columbus, Ohio at the time of his passing. He attended Maryland Public Schools where he played football and excelled as a gymnast. Tory later joined the Job Corps in Pennsylvania where he trained as an engineer for three years. While there, he made some lifelong friends and met the mother of his son. He also worked as an automotive detailer.
Tory gave his life to Christ at an early age. He was a member of Christian Tabernacle Church of God in Washington, D.C. where he was an active member of youth services.
Tory loved to spend the summer with his Aunt Sara in Columbus, Ohio and go on their family vacations to Disney and Virginia Beach.
Tory was preceded in death by his biological mother, Denise (Johnson) Tinsley; father, Donald Tinsley; maternal grandparents, Benjamin and Margaret Johnson; paternal grandparents, loving and devoted grandparents, Reverend Juanita Sharpe and Ceredo (Henry) Madison Ramsey; and uncles, David Sharpe and Ramon Ramsey.
Tory leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted parents, Nathaniel and Edna (Ramsey) Johnson; son, Dayvon Tinsley; daughters, Trinity Davis, DeiJanae Marshall, NaDejah Marshall, and Myanna Tinsley; brother, Bernard Johnson; uncles, Maurice Johnson, Hamlin Johnson, and John (Patricia) Ramsey; aunts, Sara Giles, Cleopatra Smith, and Lisa Sharpe; special friend, Christina Caruthers; and a host of cousins and lifelong friends.
Private Visitation 1:00 PM and Private Funeral Service 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH 2500 Cleveland Ave.
Masks, Social Distancing and Tickets are required.
Interment at Eastlawn Cemetery.

I meet tee threw jerrica a long distance friend I never got a chance to meet him n person only over they phone he was nice,caring person always busting jokes and making friendly conversation he will be truly missed may he rest in paradise .
Tory I’ll never forget you and I will love you forever. 5 years of knowing you out of everything we went through you were ALWAYS my best friend you loved me and my son’s dearly as if they were your own. Mr. And Mrs. Johnson I’m sorry you and your family have to go through this hard time. I will continue to be here for you all when you need me.
Tee you will never be forgotten the little time I knew you was such a sweet person you will truly be missed prayers for the family

My deepest condolences on the loss of Tory. Through all his trials & tribulations, He was a great man with a great heart. He could always make me laugh telling one of his crazy stories. It was a pleasure to know him. He loved my best friend Jerrica & her two sons. We will miss Tory. I’m Praying for your family that God gives you peace that surpasses all understanding.

I loved you immensely. With my entire being. I beared your children. You were my best friend at one point. We laughed, cried, fought and made up for years lol. I am so happy that you and I had the conversation we had. We apologized and forgave each other for everything and that means everything. You were back in touch with the girls and doing right. Ugh Tee I miss you so much. So so much. You were my first love. My baby. I pray you are at peace. I love you forever.

I knew T and he even stayed with us for a short period of time. T was a terrific person. I have thought of him often over the last couple of years. I’m really upset to hear about his passing. T loved and protected those around him. He will be missed.
