Veda Blake unexpectedly passed on Dec 17, 2020; she had a long fight. She was a survivor of a kidney transplant.

Veda was graduate of Linden McKinley High School and she also attended The Ohio State University. She was a very strong woman, 66 years young birthed to Alberta McClain and Arthur Brown Sr. on December 22, 1953.

Veda was the eldest of her two siblings, Arthur (Fredricka) Brown Jr. and Mary (Keith) Baker.

Veda was a passionate and caring wife, mother, aunt and daughter.

Veda is survived by her loving husband, Joseph Blake; children, Andrea (Clarence) Fowler, Andre (Toya) Brown, Andrianna Brown, Alexandria Brown; 15 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren that she loved very much; 2 nieces and 6 nephews that she cherished; loving cousin, Anthony Crump and a host of other family members who will cherish beautiful times.

Veda was loved and she knew that.

Veda will be truly missed by her family.

Visitation 2:00pm and Memorial Service 3:00pm Saturday, January 2, 2021 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH, 2500 Cleveland Ave.

Veda and I grew up as sisters…first cousins. If grandma accused me of something Veda would take blame … if grandma accused Veda was accused I would take blame. We would both sit on basement steps for punishment. I talked to her every week until I couldn’t talk to her anymore. My heart is broken.
