Vesta M. Moss, 90, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2019 in her home surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 13, 1929 in Malvern, Arkansas to the late George and Mabel Carroll, Vesta was the proprietor of “Moss Fine Foods” restaurant for over four decades and a retiree from Columbus City Schools.
Vesta is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John H. Moss Jr.; daughter, Marlene J. Bryant; siblings: Glen Carroll, George Carroll Jr., Jerry Haymon, Charles Carroll and Joyce Hogan. Left to continue Vesta’s legacy are her son, John C. (LaTina) Moss; daughters: Donnie M. Tyson and Sandra C. Moss of Columbus and Melva Moss of Cincinnati; sister, Maggie (Henry) Lock of Lansing, MI; 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation 11:00am and Funeral 12:00pm Thursday, June 20, 2019 at MARLAN GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave.
Interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

So sorry to hear of the loss of your mother, Mrs. Vesta Moss. Precious childhood memories of her and the Moss family as we grew up in Hanford Village are held close to my heart. Weeping may endure for a night…but joy surely comes in the morning. May the Lord Bless the entire Moss family.

I was shocked to hear of the passing of my childhood neighbor from across the street in Hanford Village, Mom Vesta Moss. She was truly a wonderful woman. I spent a lot of time in her house as she explained life lessons and showed great wisdom to me and Melva. (Ann). I am sending up prayers for Donnie, Melva (Ann), Sandra (San),John (Dicky), and family that God will grant you peace in knowing that she is no longer in the pains of this world, but is with Her Lord and Savior.

I love and Miss My Granny so much. My God will and IS taking care of her. No more pain Granny your work of 90 years is done and is God’s will. I love you more than I could ever say or show. You are our angel and God will make sure we will see you again. I LOVE YOU
It’s been over 3 years now and I miss my mama so much. God only know how my heart ache every day. I am not at the point that I can think of her without tears. I love and miss her more than I could have ever imagine . I thought I knew loss and pain, but nothing like loosing my mother.
